Cartoons are basically English anime. Both are animated so what's the deal? You can call anime a cartoon and a cartoon anime. TV has 2 different shows. Cartoons (animated shows) and real life stuff (the rest that aren't drawn).
Actually, a cartoon doesn't have to be animated. ? it can even be a simple caricature or doodles of something to be funny. Or comic strips. But no one really cares about that bit. The definition that Erza gave was just so terrible.
