Part 21: Chloe's Point of View I woke up in my bed, I could smell something. It smelled delicious, whatever it was, was coming from the kitchen. Wait. How did I get in my bed? I could've sworn I fell asleep on the couch.. I rubbed my eyes and walked downstairs. I had to be careful, I tend to walk like I'm drunk when I first wake up. Zach was in the kitchen with his back turned to me. He turned his head and smiled. "Good morning, sleeping beauty." He chuckled. I looked at the clock. "11:11, make a wish Chloe." He grinned at me. I saw him close his eyes and whisper something to himself. I made my wish right after he finished his. "So how did you sleep?" Zach was now facing me. I felt my mouth open, like my jaw just hit the floor. Zach turned red. "Oh uh sorry. It was hot in here." He was standing there, in athletic shorts and socks. He wasn't wearing a shirt. "No no it's okay. Really, it is." Zach took a step closer to me, a smirk playing on his lips. I felt my breath catch. He was so close to me, and he kept getting closer. He grabbed my hand and pulled me closer to him. "Do you think I'm attractive, Chloe?" He whispered into my ear, which sent shivers down my spine. He chuckled. "Good." He whispered again. This time he stepped back, and smirked at me. "I slept great, thank you for asking. I just couldn't figure out how I ended up in my room. I could've sworn I fell asleep on the couch." I decided to totally ignore what had just happened. It had gotten my heart to accelerate. Zach laughed at my obvious attempt to change the subject. "Well that's good. I carried you up after you fell asleep. I figured you would want to sleep in your own bed." He was so adorable, and sweet, and caring. He sent shivers down my spine, thinking about how close I just was to him. "I see you made breakfast." I looked at him, into his gorgeous brown eyes. "Thank you Zach. You didn't have to do that." "Yeah, I did. We had a slumber party, the least I could do was cook you breakfast." He smiled at me. "Speaking of breakfast, I wonder what Josh is doing." Josh's Point of View I sat on my bed, staring at the empty bag of gummy sharks. "DAMN YOU, YOU TRAITOR!" Chloe's Point of View "Go ahead. Josh is a funny guy." Zach nodded his head. "Yeah, he really is." 15 minutes later, Josh pulled up in the Range Rover. "Dude stole my car." Zach laughed. Josh barged in the door. "Where the hell are they?!" I shot Zach a look as he tossed a bag of gummy sharks to Josh. "Bribery." Zach explained. Today was going to be a good day. Josh and his gummy sharks.
Part 22: Zach's Point of View I woke up early with a smile on my face. I was in Chloe's house. On her couch. In her living room. I want to surprise her when she comes downstairs, maybe I'll make her breakfast and get her some flowers. No, no flowers. Just breakfast. I ran to the store to get some eggs, bread, cheese, ham, bacon, and potatoes. I took a few cooking classes in high school. My mom always wanted me to be able to cook also. I picked up some gummy sharks too. For Josh, he must've been running out by now. I went back to her house and got right to cooking. I wanted the delicious smell to fill the room. It got really hot so I opened some windows and took my shirt off. I heard footsteps coming down the stairs. I turned to see Chloe in her pajamas, her hair was all messed up, and she was rubbing her eyes. "Good morning sleeping beauty." I chuckled. I looked at the clock. "11:11, make a wish Chloe." I gave her my best smile. I closed my eyes. I wish that Chloe and I would be together forever. I whispered under my breath. I opened my eyes to see that she was closing hers. "So how did you sleep?" I faced her, I had my back turned to her before. I saw her mouth fall open, why did everyone do that? I felt my cheeks start to burn when it clicked in my head what was happening. Chloe's gorgeous were staring at my naked chest. I suddenly felt self-conscious. "Oh uh sorry. It was hot in here." I reached up and scratched the back of my neck and looked at the floor. "No, no it's okay. Really it is." I gave her a hint of a smirk and stepped closer to her. I was so close to her that I could feel her body heat. She was nervous, her breathing is uneasy. I reached down to grab her hand to pull her closer to me. Our bodies were touching now. Electricity was running from my head to my toes, it was uncontrollable. "Do you think I'm attractive, Chloe?" I whispered into her ear, keeping my voice low. I could feel shivers run down her spine. I take that as a yes. It made me laugh, she was too cute. But it was mostly because she's almost as nervous around me as I am when I'm around her. If only she knew what kind of power she had over me. "Good." I said still whispering, still low. I stepped back to give her some room to catch her breath. I stood there smirking at her. Her eyes were wide. "I slept great, thank you for asking. I just couldn't figure out how I ended up in my room. I could've sworn I fell asleep on the couch." I laughed. It was obvious that she was trying to convince that that didn't just happen. Oh but it did, Chloe. That just happened. "Well that's good. I carried you up after you fell asleep. I figured you would want to sleep in your own bed." I smiled at her. "I see you made breakfast." I nodded and remembered that it was still cooking. CRAP. "Thank you Zach. You didn't have to do that." "Yeah, I did. We had a slumber party, the least I could do was cook you breakfast." I smiled at her. "Speaking of breakfast I wonder what Josh is doing." I took my phone out of my pocket and started texting Josh. Wait, I should probably ask. "Is it alright if I tell him to come over for breakfast?" "Go ahead. Josh is a funny guy." I nodded. "Yeah, he really is." 15 minutes later Josh pulled up in my Range Rover. "Dude stole my car." I'll have to kill him for that. Josh barged in the door, "Where the hell are they?!" I tossed Josh the bag of gummy sharks and turned to see Chloe looking at me with an odd expression on her face. "Bribery." I explained. Chloe and I were just staring into each other's eyes but we were interrupted by another outburst from Josh. "Zach, Zach hey, Zach." He said nudging my shoulder. I looked at him and raised my eyebrows. "Did you know that the road could turn into an ocean?!" Oh boy.
Part 23: Zach's Point of View Josh, Chloe, and I were sitting at the kitchen table, playing monopoly. 30 minutes ago, Josh put a sign in front of where he put his money and properties. 'Free Money'. He took it down quickly when his gummy sharks 'spoke to him'. They've been helping him the whole game. I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket. I pulled it out to see I had a new text from Ali. Zaach! I need to know where you are! I just flew in, but shh Josh doesn't know yet. I want to surprise him. Soo, where are ya?! I texted her Chloe's address and showed Chloe the text, so she would know that one more would be joining us. Chloe looked at me like, 'Who's that?'. I shook my head, but pointed to Josh under the table and held up 5 fingers. Josh's girlfriend, together for 5 years. 'Aww!'. She mouthed. Haha, she's so cute. I'm surprised that Josh didn't hear or see us, but he was too busy whispering to his gummy sharks, "I won't let anyone hurt you." He was stroking the bag like it was a cat. You would think Josh is a chunky guy, but he's not. He's very athletic. But all of those gummy sharks are not good for him. "CHECKMATE!" He screamed and had the biggest smile on his face. Chloe smiled at him. "Josh, there's no checkmate in monopoly." She started laughing but Josh shot her a glare. "You two are teaming up on me! IT'S NOT FAIR!" He was yelling like a toddler now. "You're immune to my mind powers too." Chloe shook her head and looked down at something in her lap. She playing with something on her thumb. I looked closer and saw an aqua blue ring wrapped around her finger. Oh no, not another guy. Sh*t. Of course it was another guy and that was probably a freaking promise ring. How could I have been that stupid?! But then I looked closer and saw an engraving on it. 'To my loving wife, Elizabeth'. It must have been her mom's. My thoughts were interrupted by the doorbell ringing. I looked at Chloe and said that I would get it. "IS THAT THE PIZZA GUY?!" "Josh, you just ate.." He just shrugged his shoulders and went back to petting his gummy sharks. I walked over to the door and saw Ali standing outside, in the rain. I opened the door and she hugged me, but then she held up a finger to my lips to shush me. Ali looked exactly like Miley Cyrus, except a lot prettier and had blonde hair. She still doesn't have anything on Chloe. She had a big smile on her face. I pointed her to where the kitchen was. "IS IT THE PIZZ- HOLY sweet Mary, Jesus and Joseph!" I saw Josh run over to Ali, he picked her up and spun her around. She was laughing, they both had huge smiles plastered onto their faces. "I hope my girlfriend doesn't see us." He smirked before kissing her on the lips. I looked at Chloe, one day that will be us. I'm sure of it. Soo.. Thoughts?
Part 24: Chloe's Point of View "Josh! Stop touching my face you freak!" Ali was laughing while Josh reached up and touched her face again. Josh smiled. "I just want to make sure you're actually here." Ali kissed him on the cheek. "I'm here." She whispered. I smiled at them, they were so adorable. I looked around the room. Zach wasn't anywhere in view. I excused myself to go look for him. I peeked around my house and heard him talking to someone on the phone. He was in my room so I decided to give him some privacy. I walked into my parents' old room and started looking through my mom's old jewelry. I wonder who Zach was on the phone with. Zach's Point of View I slipped out of the room when no one was looking, a possible problem had just occurred to me. I climbed the stairs and slipped into Chloe's room. I needed to call my parents. They were both lawyers. "Hello?" My mom always answered the phone the exact same way. I could picture her sitting on the hammock with a book in her hands, reading. I missed her a lot. I'm not afraid to admit it, I love my mom. I'm a total momma's boy. "Hey, mom. It's me, Zach." I could tell she was smiling. "Zach! To what do I owe the pleasure of your call?" I smiled and shook my head even though I knew she couldn't see me. "Well, I was kind of hoping to talk to you and Dad. I have a question that a uhm, a friend of mine wanted to know. I told that I would ask you two." I knew right away that Dad was in the room. "Okay, shoot. We're listening." I could picture my parents sitting next to each other, each with extreme thinking faces on. Listening intently to whatever I had to tell them. "Okay, so I have to start from the beginning. It's kind of lame, actually. So there's this girl in one of my classes and my friend really, I mean REALLY likes this girl. The only problem is that she's 17, and still in high school. My friend is the same age as me. He wanted to know if that would be illegal. You know, if they dated." Wow, I'm really good at the whole subtle hinting into things. My mom would understand within seconds. My dad, however, probably wouldn't. I heard my Dad's voice first. "It's perfectly legal. If your friend were 18, and that girl was 16, that's another story. But I see no problem with the 17-18 difference." I heard ringing coming from the background. "Sorry, son. I have to go to the office. I'll call you later." I could hear a distant door shut, so I knew my mom was the only one there. "So who's the lucky girl?" I smiled knowing she would understand. "Her name is Chloe Jennings." I said proudly.
