That been said if a hetrosexual couple commit or ommit a crime together. The man is most likely to get a harder punishment, as judge woukd think the woman was pressured into doing it. Also the male is sort of expected to take the rap if the woman has children. That is unfair for men.
Wait what, Panda? Now I'm extra confused. Are you saying male and female criminals are treated with the same contempt or females receive more contempt?
Panda is saying men get more blame for crimes than women because often times women are seen as weaker? (Yes? No? Maybe I'm close?)
I'm saying Woman are pressured to conform more than men. A woman has all social agents breathing down their necks from births, to behave correctly. Boys do not. So if a boy/man commits or ommits a crime. Its frowned upon but if a woman commits or ommits a crime, even if it was petty. she mays well have ran about town naked cursing god killing people. Because that's how bad she will be labelled :?
Ok, I’m going to type my answers to your dot points in different colours. Hopefully, none of my BB codes fail me. It’s also 2 AM so I don’t even know if this makes sense. Abortion is a tricky issue in more ways than one. For me personally, I think you have to discuss it with the baby’s father. If you see this guy being flaky and probably not being a responsible father and leaving you with a child to take care of all by yourself, and you know you won’t have the right amount of funds to be able to take care of this child, then yes abortion all the way. If the baby’s father is out of the picture and you think having this child will affect your career or you believe you aren’t going to be a ‘fit enough’ mother, then yes have an abortion. If your pregnant as a result of rape, then definitely have an abortion if you so wish to. I’m catholic but I think if you believe it is the right thing to do, then do it. I come from strong traditional Croatian/Italian family and I’ve actually been brought up in Italy, where men are perceived as ‘gods.’ I use the term god’s loosely, as we all know Italian women are crazy and most Italian men are scared of their wives lol. But, I don’t think a lot of ‘feminists’ think that drastically. If I can’t open a jar of course, I’m going to ask my boyfriend to open it. I don’t think it makes me weak at all, it just means I can’t open a stupid bloody jar. I think that whenever the word ‘sexist’ or ‘sexism’ is said most people will straight away associate it with a man being sexist towards a woman. However, it’s not always the case. I think sexism broken down to its core is just prejudice against a certain type of gender. Whether it be a woman being sexist towards a man or a man being sexist towards a woman. They’re both wrong and unfortunately both happen. The other day, I was reading a blog where a woman wrote a song about men, sexually objectifying them. It was a copy of a popular song but she had turned it around. Reading through the comments was hilarious and slightly frustrating to say the least, a guy commented saying that the woman’s song was ‘crude and wrong,’ that her use of phrases made him feel uncomfortable and her objectifying and using men as sex puppets were wrong and that she had gone apparently ‘too far,’ with her lyrics, but that the original song wasn’t actually that wrong. When in fact, all she had done is turn those lyrics around. His statement actually made me furious, I mean it’s ok when women are talked about in a sexual manner like that, but when men are talked about in that manner it’s not okay? Double standards piss me off. Sexually objectifying any gender is wrong. I would best define rape culture as something which has integrated itself into society as a ‘norm.’ I see a lot of the time pictures being posted on social media websites with the hashtag, ‘rape,’ and it’ll be like a photo of a girl with two guys hugging or a group of girls hugging or whatever. I mean, do these people even understand the true meaning of the word? It’s definitely not that, I also find it very disrespectful. Rape is not something that is funny or something that should be taken light hearted, it something that should be taken with all seriousness. It’s no wonder that most rapes go unreported when people see it as something of a joke. I’ve also seen it used by people to grab some attention, that’s absolutely disgusting. It’s not wrong for a man to appreciate the woman’s body nor is it wrong for a woman to appreciate a man’s body. I would cross the line at where such comment’s become lewd or you can see that the person is becoming uncomfortable at such comments. But, I think most people with any shroud of intelligence should know when to stop. I would say touching is definitely out of the equation. Lastly, comments like she/he was dressed ‘provocatively’ so they were definitely asking for it are just plain dumb. Such comments are usually said by men. I think this says more so about the level of self-control you possess than it does on the scantily clad human being. I mean if you can’t control yourself than why are you wasting your time breathing on this planet. I would hope most adults can and should possess a certain amount of self-control. I’ve rambled on too much but the absolute last thing I want to say is, as a feminist who believes in this idea of feminism. I can tell you that most of you probably have a wrong idea about it. Feminists aren’t just fighting for rights and equality just for women. They’re fighting for gender equality, equality for all human beings. To break feminism down to its absolute core, it’s a fight for all genders, race and sexual preference to be equal in this society. If you think feminism is all about women wanting to take over the world or that it’s just about women and their rights, then sorry my friend but you are wrong. Educate yourself.
To the orange part. I support. I have just finished my second year doing Social sciences. Feminism is on of the theories, although I can admit. It's not one we learned much about. But it does interest me. Its not only about womans rights, but equality
To the people saying 'get back in the kitchen' 'make me a sandwhich' clearly your still at home living with your mother :? Get in with the times and get a girlfriend, life newbs :?
My point is this: Feminism is about women being able to define their role. All I ask is that women allow men to define their role. If you expect equal treatment then give equal treatment in return.
Pas, that is absolutely wrong. It's not at all about women defining their role. It's about women being treated as equal members of society. You just don't understand the concept of feminism, it's not to 'oppress' men or anybody. It's actually there to liberate them and all human beings in general
I believe Fight fire with fire  Don't let a man make you feel inferior. Instead make him your bitch. Boom fuck society  P.s spitfire makes a mean sanwhich
Okay so the comment about men saying things are provocative brings us back to Frings's comment on page 2 and what I said about wanting guys to stop finding women attractive. And also to Panda's statement about hot guys being just as appealing as hot girls I think that some things are provocative regardless of the females intention. Ex. Shorts so short your booty be hanging out Wearing nothing but pasties to cover your nipples Shirts, dresses cut in manner that your tits are on display Backless dresses that go down to your butt crack Wearing yoga pants that are so type you can see every nook and cranny Miley Cyrus at the VMAs Miley Cyrus's Instagram pic of her naked and touching herself Scout Willis matching around NY topless Rihanna at the CDFA, she had practically no clothes on HAVING NO CLOTHES ON That's what I mean when I say things are provocative. And people say from hell to high heaven men shouldn't take notice of women's bodies's on display and that the female body shouldn't be hidden but.... You're naked. This isn't the garden of Eden pre-fall. Put some leaves on.
