Being a feminist can be as simple as wanting women to have equal rights. I guess I'm a feminist if you go by that definition, and I really don't think women have equal rights right now. The example op used — a man helping a woman — is perfectly fine by my standards. That's just called being helpful. However, cutting off her ability to take control and do what she wants, completely in charge of everything, just because she's a woman and therefore not capable is the line for me. Manners and common courtesy? Basic traditions? I think that's fine. That's not sexism. But basing everything off someone's gender, whether it be female or male, and deciding things ONLY on that is sexism. A woman can be stronger than a man. A man can be better at household chores than a woman. About rape (assault of a specific nature). No. Rape is never, and never will be okay. Stuff your reasons and excuses. I'd say it crosses into rape the moment someone says "no" or "stop" and the other person keeps going regardless. And I do think a woman could rape a man. That's certainly a possibility — especially if she uses a drug. The thing is, men are way more likely to rape women simply because most are stronger (just a statistic, not a stereotype). And because of the general attitude towards it. Some people feel bad because of the opportunities a young athlete turned rapist could have had, but really, they should be feeling bad for that poor woman who has to live with the trauma for the rest of her life. Most rapists don't even go to jail. A ton of people don't really care about it and say "she was asking for it". I hate that attitude. There's no excuse for rape. Last question: people can wear whatever the hell they want. I don't give a shit about that. In fact, I admire their courage for wearing what they want and not caring what people think. So yeah. Long ass rant, probably pointless.
@ the part about miley cyrus at the vmas. Everyone talked about how it was wrong for her to grind on him and be that naked but no one said anything about robin being married and having a child grinding on miley
? I didn't see Robin grind on Miley. But it definitely inappropriate of him to let her do that even if it wasn't originally planned. Not a big fan of Robin Thicke. His song "blurred lines" gives me the skivvies.
