Hello!! I'm relatively new on here, today marks day two (yay me)! Got some help from my clubmates figuring out how the game works - but struggling in other parts. I recently had a player approach me with an offer to buy two tarot cards and a yellow key orb- they are just sitting in my showcase right now - is there any value to them if I decide to keep them or would I be better off selling them if they are useless to me? I couldnt find anything in the forum mentioning tarots other than sell requests, so not really sure what the VALUE is of all these random knicknack that just sit around. Additionally - how can you be sure you are getting a good price and not being taken advantage as a newbie? Thanks! Xx Darling
Key orbs go for about 3 per chibi, Tarot card pricing is about 100 per bento and 2-3 per chibi (some of the more popular ones are pricier). The importance of key orbs can be found in this thread, and Tarot cards in this thread. I would for you to sell key orbs, and focus on one specific Tarot card to collect to help you get an avatar. If you do this, trade your favored Tarot card 1:1 with others' Tarots. (For example, I'm collecting Lovers, so if you wanted Death, I could trade my Death for your Lovers.) I think the best way to get used to the market is pay attention to prices you see in the chat from people both buying and selling, and keep an eye on their walls for responses to see if people are accepting that or not. A good seller (and buyer) will be patient with you when you say, "Hey, I'm interested but I want to double check the pricing with some friends!" Also never hesitate to ask club members, your pupil, forums, Campus/Pub, or even the PIMD Discord for price checks to ensure you're getting (or giving!) a fair price. It can be a lot to take in as a newbie, and even some very experienced players need help navigating the market too. For furniture pricing, I recommend this guide series. It helps give some approximations and also allows you to ask for price checks in the thread. For other non-furni items, you can also ask for a price check in the general question thread. Take a look at the guide on scamming as well. If it sounds too good to be true -- it probably is!
Additionally, check out this new player guide! It isn't totally relevant to any of your questions but can help create a baseline to help you learn the overall game. The guides subforum itself is a valuable tool -- all the guides are made by your fellow players, including some by myself.
