So why don't you take your own advice? You can tell others to not become like you because you are, and I'm sorry for saying this, disgusted with yourself. Same as any other addict. You think I don't hate myself for smoking? Because I do. Can I quit? Yes, but I choose not to, but the question isn't that, it's whether or not I HAVE to smoke. And I don't. I'm taking responsibility for the harm I do to myself and those around me. I'm aware of those that I harm by doing what I do, so I try to control myself and I succeed. You just need to tell yourself that you don't have to do it, that you are in control, that YOU and only YOU are capable of harming yourself and stop telling you yourself you can't because that's the coward's way out.

 

Self-harm is a choice.
Trust me, cause Ive been there. I chose to hurt myself rather than to face my problems. I thought it was better.

 

It shouldn't be a argument kath. I don't think you read anything anyone says. I believe you just see what you want to. I don't think you even bothered to read what anyone wrote prior to you.

Casey....this thread is own choice to post, own choice to put opinion, see how this is linked to the topic? It is choice.

It's not like some one is holding a gun to your head saying they'll shoot if you don't self harm, when people self harm, they're by them selves, so no one can stop them except them-self.

 

I chose to eat a full bag of hot cheetos today and harmed myself and my butt tomorrow morning.



It's a choice. Period.

 

It's not that I don't listen, it's that I can't listen, I have tried to many times to stop, I mentally can't, when your life has been fucked like mine for 23 years, starting with a dad practically killing your mum, then deciding that a few 'friends' might want to come over when I was 6, ever since then I have been in hospital about 40 times with non-self harm harm, and other reasons...... The only good thing in my life? I'm a vet
