Yeah it really isn't about just killing terrorist what so ever. In most cases you don't even see a terrorist. Just people trying to live their life's with out being categorized as terrorist just because a few people want to kill themselves and others because they think it's right. Now there is also messed up people over there, it's not all glitz and glam that your marine there. Not like it is back home for a lot of people. To each their own... If kid wants to join, then more power to him. His super hooah attitude will change once he's in and realizes what little role he will actually have in the giant scheme of things. Also, downside to joining now - the wars are ending and draw downs are near. If he were to go now he won't get his dream of being shot at daily, but more daily boredom for months on end. But if it's his dream to join, who are we to stop him or argue with him about him. He will meet many people that will change his life forever and make some of the best friends he will ever have. So op, join, have fun and live it up while you're in....just talk to a few people who have been there and done that before you sign that dotted line (and don't forget to read the fine print of that contract) There is a whole lot of bs in daily military life, especially for lower enlisted. You will be stateside and in garrison (where you will see true stupidity in daily military life) way more than you will be deployed "getting shot at daily". ️ P.S. Use the military for all the benefits they offer. You may not get paid much... But use the free college TA while you're in and at least get a degree at no cost. Best thing you can do ... I wish I would have been smarter about that.
Everyone has their on views on joining the military,I personally thank anyone enlisted in the U.S military, no matter what reason they joined, they are still putting forth an effort and some putting their lives on the line for the country. Money in the military isn't the best. That's why you still have veterans looking for jobs. Regardless of everyone else's beliefs and thoughts of our military, I say thankyou for your service.
You all only care about the stuff the military benefits guess what Idc I don't wanna go to college I'm doing marines for the full 20 years then being a cop. And saying I won't give orders I'm not planning on giving orders I rather not be the reason a young kid dies cuz of my mistake. If you think about it I will make a difference cuz each Taliban killed is making sure he can't kill a us soldier.
You all act like 9/11 never happened. What would you do if someone flew a plane into your families job and killed them you would be mad. Open your eyes this isn't 1st grade where if someone does somthing back they go sit in the corner it's real life.
