Oh and about the drinking thing? I won't say never, but if I ever had a sip of alcohol, i'd be VERY disappointed with myself. I know better than to get caught up with that. This might all change, but I hope it doesn't.

My mother was extremely involved in my life, my father wasn't, the lack of him being in my life was what it was, he worked nights so he couldn't be around. Was much better then when we were poor. But my mother was constantly around, her being involved in my life has never prevented me from doing things. Yes I was scared of disappointing my mother and still am and her being sad hurts me. But none of that meant anything because I simply enjoyed what drugs and alcohol gave me that other things couldn't at that point in time. It wasn't the fact that they weren't around or watching me. It was simply I enjoy sex, drugs and alcohol ? And nachos
My mother almost killed herself blaming herself for things she couldn't change the stress drove her to a mental breakdown once because she couldn't stop blaming herself for the way I turned out. She felt responsible for my self injury, my sexual abuse, my drug abuse, my sex addiction, my alcohol abuse, and my own self destruction that was MY fault not hers in any way shape or form. They were all my issues nothing that she herself could have prevented. And that's sad. She took the blame for me even though she did everything she could to improve and help me and ran herself ragged trying to save me.
So before you place blame on parents that have done everything they could for their children maybe you should consider maybe the children are just little assholes

My parents don't drink, so I snuck I sip of my aunts beer at a party when I was twelve.? Tasted pretty nasty then but still haven't tried any since.
Maybe it was because I had the up most respect for my parents that I didn't dare disobey them. Who knows, also the fact that id get my butt busted for even crossing them. My mom always knew somehow when one of her kids disobeyed her. It was kinda creepy.
I'm no saint trust me, but when I lived with my parents I didn't dare cross them and did everything they said.
