Mods/Campus/PvP Hunts

Discussion in 'Off Topic' started by OTF, May 8, 2018.

  1. The moderators on every ata game have lives, yet the other game's WC don't look like a cesspool of perversion. You don't see tou breaks constantly go unchecked. If the excuse for not controlling WC is always "we also have lives" then don't sign up for a role that requires a lot of time.

  2. I disagree with choosing your own spinner items, but everything else has my full support.

Also, I might reccommend taking cash off the spinner entirely and replacing it with spinner tokens. Even as little as 5 would be a huge improvement over the cash and wouldn't take too much away from the number of ads I watch to spin.

  3. Coz they won't close it unless it breaks tou or something :/ What is the purpose of the thread now that they said we considered it and said that they will do what they can. They are the devs and they saw a large number of people commenting and they answered and now the whole reason for the existence of thread is done. Now it's just cluttering space and soon will be derailed.
Who are you op? how many alts do you have? How do you have so much stamina to go to random people on the whole game and ask them for support? Why are so many people with <50 posts commenting when generally no one does even on competitions and give aways? I have so many genuine questions.

  4. Some of them do have lives. Others don't, but use it as an excuse.

  5.  this
if you are unable to fulfill modly duties due to time constraints, don’t apply to be a mod. being a mod is not just a colored name and ability to talk in campus chat whenever you want.

  6. What "having lives" implies is that we are certainly not online all day to moderate campus. As a result, certain violations go unchecked. However, we do our best.
Why PimD has a campus that is more perverse than other games is simply because of the demographic and age group the game attracts. It's a role playing college based game and that will and does attract people with perverse ideas.
To add, not everything that you classify as perverse is necessarily silence able, unless it breaks ToU.
If you see a violation, report it to a mod or to ATA via the help section, rather than look for someone to blame. If you qualify and have time, apply for moderator.
I will not say that we don't need more mods as that is not my decision nor place, but I will say that the game can have additional mods yet the campus could still be what it is now and there could still be violations that go unchecked. It's just the kind of people the game appeals to.

  7. Actually, certain mods are on quite often. I'd know, because of the constant silences I get during different hours of the day? Nobody is online all day except for a few 10s of people.

Perverse incentives are always bad unless it's unconsensual or a person is under the legal age consent. I won't defend them though... Even though something might not be perverse you can still get silenced for it, based on the mind of the moderator. Happened to my twice now, unfortunately.

Instead of blaming the normal players or any other excuses such as, "we have lives..." try having a mutual discussion amongst each other about how to clean up wc some and enlighten each other that not everything that seems perverse is actually perverse. With the different time zones of mods, I'm sure all of you can easily contribute to cracking down on the rule breakers... oh, and just a heads up... some people mentioning bad things about mods are the same people asking for inappropriate things in campus chat on alts.

  8. If they are online quite often and you are getting silenced, this just proves that they are indeed doing their "jobs".
In this case too, even if a moderator is online doesn't necessarily mean he/she is looking at campus for all the while he/she is online. We, just like players, do other stuff on the game too. In case you feel you were wrongly silenced, you can appeal the same to support. Their word is final though so maybe not say things that can be misinterpreted.
Like I already said, we do our best to moderate the game and crack down on violators. Doesn't mean we get them all. Isn't possible. I never blamed anyone. I asked them to contribute the best they can. Additionally, you never know who is whose alt so yeah that could always be a possibility. ?

  9. Let's addresses it as a mod's purpose or a mod's duty, since it isn't exactly a "job." Silencing my alts isn't doing their job. It just makes me want to log out of the silenced account... They could wall Me or send a gift message to ask me what I mean. Slang is always misinterpreted by them.

Another thing that would be helpful is cracking down on players who are under 15. You might as well ignore the 15+ players, they're old enough to make mistakes that they'll eventually learn from. The younger players always are too immature and post perverse things for attention that they don't receive in reality. Most of them are neglected and socially outcast.

The girls sending explicit pics and vids for PayPal should also be banned immediately.

What I propose is a way to send moderators screenshots of things against ToU/RoC. With the players also helping the mods with proof, a lot can be accomplished.

  10. ^ If you send a help ticket to report often support asks for ss as proof and you can send it over email.

  11. The players under 17 are liable to be banned, not 15.
Screenshots can always be photoshopped hence unreliable, as per ToU. That's why ATA doesn't consider PM as evidence either.
I would personally much rather have a report feature that is fully functional than a way to send screenshots.

  12. Oh, I meant 16, but 17 is fine too A lot of them tell their ages in campus chat. They'll ask for other kids around they're age as well. They usually only get a silence. I've noticed that people aren't getting silenced for inappropriate igns anymore. These couples on here have some of the most perverse igns I've ever seen. Like, I want an inappropriate ign too.

  13. I think ata should stop pretending they respect pm privacy and just admit they can look at them and then ban the bad ppl.

  14. 1. Privacy cannot and should not be violated. Be it ATA or the facebook or FBI, I do not want them to have access to my private stuff, including private messages. There's a reason it's called private.
    2. I understand that your intention in saying that is good, but isn't that the logic given by FBI to invade privacy and many/most people stand up against it as it's a breach of privacy. I don't see this as any different. What ATA could do is make signing-in into PimD age verification based. However, let's be honest, we've all lied to access stuff we weren't supposed to.
There is only so much ATA can do. They have clearly said the game is 17+. They ban anyone found less than the age of 17. The ultimate responsibility is that of the person downloading the game and his/her parents/guardian. All we as responsible people can do is report such players. Hence why I would like a functional reporting system.

  15. That is most definitely a ban able offence. Please write to support if you find someone claiming to be less than 17 in a public channel.
Inappropriate igns are not allowed. Please contact a mod or support in case you find any. ?

  16. I'm not going to apply to be a volunteer kiss ass for ATA. Both mods and ATA staff seem to love throwing around bad excuses for why they can't or won't do something that they're suppose to be doing.

  17. Your call. Continue blaming people who atleast are trying to help. Real productive, much difference. Kudos.

  18. A shit job at helping but continue acting like yall are doing a good job

  19. a better job than you are. you're just in this thread pıssing and moaning
