You actually added me along time ago because you liked another poem that I had written. I simply added you back. Haven't tried to pm or wall you since then just so you know. So I can't quite call it an obsession. I just named the usual suspects of trolls and haters on my threads. Every time I post, regardless of what I write,.... you (the same ones I named) guys, line up on my thread to get roasted.... Not sure why. I don't have a god-complex. I have an allergic to stupid complex. You guys give my immune system flare ups. So, I avoid and ignore your threads. You're mad about it and attack my threads. I'm cool with our love hate relationship. It's called acceptance.
A true artist doesn't ever have to explain themselves. They don't try to be understood, they simply create and allow the world to see or be a part of that creation. Op if you're a true artist then you wouldn't feel the need to explain or answer back to "children" or "untraveled" people. Wolf and others were simply giving their honest opinion. Who has the right to critique art? Who says art is good/bad? Everyone. It's subjective to each individual. You will NEVER appeal to everyone, so why does it bother you if others don't like your rap? You're belittling others, as if they're not smart or qualified enough to even have an OPINION about YOUR art. If you're passionate about rap then great! But don't put others down because they don't feel the same way you do, or have opposing views on something.
It doesn't bother me that they have an opinion on my art. It bothers me that they are upset that I don't care about their opinion. I didn't try to explain myself... I could go line by line if you want and point out things that it takes skills to do in such a short period of time, in my work. The "untraveled" comes from his words(Wolf) not mine and he is being passive aggressive because that was discussing a different subject entirely in a different thread. So please, know what you're talking about before you speak. I don't remember putting anyone down because they didn't feel the same way I did. I don't attack the opinion of the work, I appreciate it and let the person know that I actually read what they said, by specifically replying to their words. When they attack me personally, I defend myself, sometimes they are put down in that process. However, if they simply attack the work, I say thanks for your opinion or something of that nature... So, if you've actually been paying attention instead of bandwagoning, I don't get your point. Also, what qualifies you to categorize anyone as a "true artist"? Just a question...?

Art is subjective. It is not based on fact, it cannot be used in the scientific method. There is no true rule book for it. Of course there are many historians and experts, but at the end of the day it's subjective. Even "experts" don't all agree. Many artists that we revere today were seen as shams and not qualified. Oh look qualified, a word you love to point out There are many variables as to why art is seen as good/bad. Know one has to tell me that, if you were interested in art history you would come to your own conclusions about it
