Stats don't move

Your dorm upgrades your miscellaneous stats; not your raw stats.

You can see your misc stats at the bottom of your profile.

 

Or you can go inside your dorm and on the top right corner, it will show the miscellaneous of it.

My stats only go up when I upgrade my dorm, not when I upgrade pets or get new items or new tuts so I guess I’m confused how it works and what’s the point of leveling pets if it’s not upping my stats

 

Moving in/upgrading dorm mates is the only thing that affects the main numbers on your profile, directly under your hire value. Stat items, tutors, leveled furniture, avi stats, pet stats, and your relationship bonus all contribute and make you stronger, but it doesn't change those profile numbers. Those other factors can be found when you scroll further down your profile.
