  1. Lee smiled and slowly turned his gaze over to her. Her eyes were closed and her head remained rested against his shoulder. He reached over to brush her hair away from her face.

Until a voice broke the quiet air of the night. He heard concern in a woman's voice. It called out Lilth's name a few more times.

She sat up quickly and moved from his side, " My mom..she's looking for me! ", She exclaimed and slowly glanced over at him with a pained expression.

She didn't want to leave his side. He could see the sadness in her hazel blue eyes.

Lee touched her cheek and sat up, " Time to go back then. "

Lilth brushed her fingertips across the back of his knuckles. They stood slowly and brushed off dirt particles and grass strands from their fancy clothes. Regrettably, they walked back towards the castle.

Judith gasped in relief once her daughter escaped the darkness of the gardens. She scooped her in to a hug, " What have I told you about wandering off darling? It's dangerous and un lady like. ", She began to scold her daughter.

Lee apologized once he made it to Lilth's side, " I'm sorry Madame, it's my fault. She took a liking to the lilies and I offered to show her our more colorful ones. "

Lilth's mother tensed and covered her mouth. The young prince of the castle was out playing with her daughter. His parents were wondering his where abouts as well.

" Dear, you must get back inside! You're mother is looking for you and there has been a change in events. ", She said pale faced and nervous. Quickly ushering both children back inside to the ballroom.

Lee and Lilth exchanged worried looks. They had no idea what was awaiting them inside.

Lilth lowered her gaze to the ground. Her hand was gently grabbed and held. She looked up to find Lee gazing back at her with reassurance. Her cheeks flushed a light pink, the feeling of warmth spreading through her.

It wasn't until they were in the ballroom. That their worlds were turned upside down.

The King stood proudly with his Queen at his side. He called his son over to the throne, " Ladies and gentleman, I have delightful news! Our son, the prince, has found a beautiful princess to share the throne with when he comes of age. Let us all celebrate the engagement of Lee and Jennifer! ", His voice boomed happily over the crowded room.

Lilth gasped and looked up at Lee. His eyes stared at his parents in disbelief. He had been gone for quite some time. Already having picked out a fiancé for him. He never wanted an arranged marriage.

A pretty brunette in a yellow frilly dress walked over. Her pink lips curved in to a smile, " My prince, I'm ever so delighted to be your future wife. May we share our first dance? "

Lee stood in shock until his father pushed his back to dance with the brunette stranger. He turned to look over his shoulder at Lilth.

Tears stung her now light blue eyes. Her hand falling to her side, empty. She didn't flinch as her mother tried to console her. Within seconds she was out of the room and running from the chaos.

Judith stared after her daughter in pain, " Baby.."

June shook her head and tugged her sister a long after Lilth. Heart break at such a tender age. Was not a good sign to the beginning of adult hood.

Lee grimaced and allowed Jennifer to wrap her arm around him and hold close. He loosely hugged her and down casted his gaze.

They just barely started to become friends, and already their destinies were being ripped apart from each other. Everyone clapped and joined in on a dance with the beautiful piano playing.

June caught up to her distraught niece, " Lilth darling, listen to me! Everything's going to be alright-"

Lilth shook off her aunt and then her mother's comforting arms, " No! ", She stated stubbornly and ran off towards home. Her light crying refused to he consoled and calmed.

Judith frowned and followed her daughter, " She's so young, how is it possible to have such a strong connection to someone you barely know? "

June patted her sister's hand, " The universe works in mysterious ways. We may not judge or interfere with what plans it has. "

Ten years had passed since their fateful meeting. The dreams had suddenly stopped, though she could still feel his heart beating in her head while she dreamed. The only sign that let her know he was okay.

The angels took little pity on her.

She stepped outside in a light blue dress that stopped slightly past her ankles. A black coat pulled around her, and a wool hat pulled on over her head. A gift sewn from her aunt.

She took a breath, testing the cold air around her. A puff of air appearing in front of her. Lips curved in to a smile. Feet moving forward toward the winding road.

" Lilth! You better have you're boots on! It's cold out there, and avoid the bridge on the way back! ", Her mother called after her from the open door of her house.

She turned and waved at her mother. Then proceeded out towards the market. The holidays were coming around. She wanted to buy gifts for her family and friends.

Her hazel eyes drifted to the snow covered ground and trees. It was such a beautiful sight. Something in her heart clenched at a thought. A reminder of something she had lost long ago.

Her journey continued until she reached the open market. Many people cluttered shops and the out skirts. Bribery and money being exchanged between people.

She moved past and along the crowd. A shiny object caught her attention. As she turned on her heel, she saw a beautiful heart necklace hanging on a jewelry stand.

The owner smiled crookedly at her while she came over for a closer look, " Do you like it my sweet? It's only ten pounds. "

She smiled politely and nodded, " Yes please, and would you happen to know anyone that sells wrapping paper? "

" Yes dear, the old man a few stores down from here. He-"

" Excuse me! Can I have some service here? I'd like to buy a few things! ", A loud mouthed voice exclaimed from the side of the shop.

" For a little sister, you have a big mouth. Can't you be a little nicer? "

" Brother, dear, if I did that. Do you think I'd get fast service? No. "

Lee shook his head and came around to the front. Hoping to apologize for his ride sister. He halted in his tracks suddenly. Causing his sister to bump in to his back.

" Hey! What's the big deal?! ", The brunette growled out and shoved past him to speak to the shop owner.

Lilth lifted her gaze to look over. Blue hazel met brown hazel. Her heart jolted in shock and her vision became hazy.

    Those eyes. That face.

    She hadn't seen those since..

The snowy ground rushed up at her. Her body barely made it to the soft powder. Strong arms caught her and supported her form.

" Good job bro, making an innocent girl faint. ", His little sister retorted and paid the shop keeper.

Lee frowned and gazed down at Lilth. The snow flakes in her hair gave off a serene glow. She looked so peaceful. He lifted her up, one arm under her back and the other under her legs.

He was glad now that he dressed warm with his royal blue pea coat, black boots and royal blue hat. His sister was forced in to clothes similar to his, although in pink.

He never forgot her. Lilth was always on his mind. Regardless of the fact that he was still engaged. They both had grown up so much.

Lilth slowly opened her heavy eyes. The soft light surrounding her, forcing her to adjust her vision. She grumbled softly and moved to sit up. A gentle hand prevented her from moving too fast.

She shifted her gaze to the concerned hazel brown eyed gentleman beside her. He cleared his throat, " Um, sorry, didn't mean to surprise you. Don't move to quickly, you nearly hit your head when you passed o-"

Lilth pushed away from him and stood up on her own two feet. She brushed off his gestures and turned to start walking away. She was no fool, falling for him the first time was a mistake. The second time, would be a tragedy.

Lee grimaced and followed after her, nearly stumbling over his own footing. He reached for her, " Lilth please! Let me e-"

She cut him off this time, with a hurling snowball to the face.

Lee blinked a few times, " G-Gah! Cold!! ", He whined and brushed the snow off his face. Barely having a chance to dodge the next one. They kept coming, one after the other.

Lilth glared at him while throwing more snowballs. Tears glistened in her blue hazel eyes, as well as the hurt built up from the years. She leaned down to grab more snow.

Another form tackled her down, making her drop the snow in her small hands.

She huffed and shoved at his chest, " Get off me! Go back home to your precious palace and fiancé! "

His eyes widened in surprise, gently grabbing her wrists, " Lilth! Please! "

She stop fidgeting and glared up at him. He stared back down at her, " It wasn't my choice-"

Lilth managed to move one of her wrists out of his grip. Then shoved a handful of snow in to his mouth. She smirked in triumph at his shocked expression. Then slipped out from under him and ran.

Lee shook off the shock and chased after her. Both exchanging snow ball throws and shouting at one another.

She tripped over a hidden tree root, falling towards a pile of snow. He reached out to break her fall, only to be pulled down with her. Snow flew up in the air and fell on and around them.

A few giggles erupted from under the snow. Then silence fell around them.

He opened his eyes to glance down at her. Cheeks flushed from the cold and the snowball fight. She gazed back up at him with slightly wide innocent eyes.

He brushed a snowflake from her cheek. Inch by inch, closing the gap between them. Years of distance and hurt feelings, built between. She blushed a pretty pink and leaned in to his touch without realizing what she was doing.

He leaned in and kissed her gently. She responded in return shyly, kissing him softly. The world around them quieted while they lay in the snow.

Alana watched from a good distance behind a large oak tree. A small smile on her face. She held two small pounces in her hands, which she quickly tucked away in to her pink jacket pockets.

Her dark brown hair littered with small snowflakes. It was nice to see her brother happy for once. The fiancé he was pushed off to, wasn't all that nice. Nor was she kind hearted or gentle spirited.

She wasn't a good fit for her brother.

Remembering back to the day of the ball when they were little. Memories that were faded and not all there. Though she did remember her brother seemingly attached to a little blonde girl.

Perhaps her big brother wouldn't mind letting her deal out a card of her own. She turned away from the kissing two in the snow. Her small feet making prints in the snow. She began making her way back to the shops.
