You need a diet that coincides with your workout plan (which if you plan on losing weight and getting ripped I'm sure you will have) I was a proffesional athlete for 3 years before I went to college and even though I had to stay in shape my average calorie intake for the day was around 8,000 calories... But I also lifted and worked out at least 6 hours a day so it depends entirely on what you want and how much you work out. You need to make sure you take in enough calories to workout and function correctly without cheating yourself. Get a trainer seriously it is the best thing you can do if you are serious about it because they work one on one with you and pretty much set everything up for you
