I’ve come to associate higher education (-whether that is post-secondary institutions or professional training) with long lectures or projects that take an extended period of time to complete. I have made a similar association with attention span. I handle it by only giving that particular person as much as they can handle... even if it is rarely speaking to them again at all. When they, as they often do, ask why I’m not saying a whole lot to them. I tell them something like “I try not to waste my words”... or “I only speak when my words are more beautiful than the silence I’m interrupting.”
Theres a lot of better ways you could be handled it. Don't be a submissive pussy and ask "are you done." That right there will show her she's in control and she'll continue to mistreat you. In your situation you should've raised your voice and demanded that she listened instead of running her mouth. You can't show that kindness or a side of weakness to people who will use it against you. And if you guys were friends who are really more than just friends, but aren't dating... You should've fucked her. She can't talk wit a dick in her mouth, I mean she can try, but she'll fail. I bet she just needs some act right.
No one my manager was with me when the incident happened. So they first hand saw what was happening and stepped in before the situation could worse.
