  1. If I and my family commemorate the death of my chicken every year on the date of its death, that day is a holiday.

  2. No.

  3. Yes.
Get over yourself. Barry was the best chicken you could ever ask for.

  4. Did Barry lay golden eggs? Cos if it didn't I don't think it wuz da very best chicken

  5. The yolks were golden, and the eggwhite tasted like semen. So decadent

  6. No. You are being silly.

  7. You have no right to tell me what I can and can't dedicate a holiday towards. If I choose to assign a day to commemorate or celebratr a specific thing then that is my right, and it is a holiday.

  8. you’re such a troll  im dying.

  9. It ain't just you. OP has a history of being racist on pimd before.

  10. No, Its a family tradition. Or personal tradition. Is a general group participating or is it just you/your family? Thats not a holiday.

  11. The thing is.... it's a CULTURAL holiday, not a religious holiday or a national holiday, so therefore participation rate is bound to be lower because it falls in a completely separate category. This just sounds like a borderline racist, whiny thread of someone who thinks a holiday can only be considered one if they know ppl who celebrate it. Its not a "legitimate, societal" holiday clearly, because it was created specifically for African Americans to observe. Do AA's make up 100% or even a majority of the society??? No they dont. Not even 15%. Of course national/societal participation will be low because its not meant for the entire society to observe. Its a cultural, educational holiday with a background isnt driven by a specific religion or country affiliation, like Christmas or NYE. "Day of the Dead" is also a holiday in America that is cultural but its also religious, so it has more participation.

  12. well op supports trump. not really surprised by their poor attempt at hiding it with this thread tbh.

  13. Ew paragraphs

  14. Dr. Maulana Karenga, professor and chairman of Black Studies at California State University, Long Beach, created Kwanzaa in 1966. After the Watts riots in Los Angeles, Dr. Karenga searched for ways to bring African-Americans together as a community. He founded US, a cultural organization, and started to research African “first fruit” (harvest) celebrations. Karenga combined aspects of several different harvest celebrations, such as those of the Ashanti and those of the Zulu, to form the basis of Kwanzaa. It’s a Cultural Holiday dedicated to African Americans. It’s not national, but it’s still a holiday. Get over yourself. ?

  15. You missed the part where you were disowned.

  16. I know we would eventually get this racist "poll". Kwanzaa is a holiday and that is final.

  17. A) Poll is not racist.
    B) You do not have the final say on the matter.

    No, is my vote.
