Despite the disagreements between our views, I'd like to say I genuinely appreciate this respectful and professional response. For me personally, this is what I have been seeking from the beginning. Thank you, Marceline
Yeah, I understand your point-of-view as well! I just like trying to survey the situation from all points-of-view, and then forming my opinion from there. Thank you for the compliment! I used to be very, very on the attack (incl. on these forums... I used to get into political "discussions," for one, which I think speaks for itself!). It's definitely a skill, and sometimes it takes a lot of energy to try to deattach myself from my initial emotions. I think it, in a way, is a good partnership to have people that might handle the situation more "logically" and more "emotionally" because it [typically] can help balance each other out to an extent! Like a good cop / bad cop dynamic.
Thank you again, Marcie, for giving an address. As Aphire said, I do think the community might be a bit more partial to the tone of this one even if you still have to be the bearer of... well, somewhat bad news. π
I just think it's super funny that players can be really mean (like the Helen Keller comment β what could have possibly prompted someone to say such a jerk thing π) but then suddenly it is 100% totally unacceptable when they are on the receiving end of a sassy comment back. As for those concerned about my "professionalism" or I suppose, lack thereof, it's not really a top concern π€·π½ββοΈ (we're on a game called Party in My Dorm y'all; there is weird RP everywhere........) It's all going to be ok. Life moves on, we'll all return to dust one day, so let's just focus on the big picture here people. Once again, to recap: We hear all y'alls feedback and will make adjustments where necessary and backed up by supporting data. We will continue to try β¨ new β¨ things! This can be good, this can be bad. We can figure this out together through trial and error, and if you guys provide helpful + detailed + constructive feedback and suggestions. We will not be entertaining angry demands and/or tantrums. These comments will largely be ignored. Our goal is to keep PIMD alive and thriving for as long as we can. We can do this with your help and your thoughts. The key though is through productive dialogue. We will also work towards doing this better with y'all (hint: perhaps creating a "Valedictorian" role, similar to Honor Students and Moderators, consisting of our trusted players known to give solid feedback we can totally work with.) It's possible that a designer will come out and share their thoughts on all this as well in the near future, so keep an eye out on that! However!!! Super mean messages about how awful every choice they make is and how terrible of a human being they are because [insert anything that was complained about in this thread here] will definitely cause them to recede (many of them are introverts just like how I suspect a number of you are) back into their shells. It's kind of why I'm the messenger, just like honey badger, Marcie don't give a ****. π
I've really just lost any respect I had gained π I've lost any respect I aforementioned. I'm so disappointed. I'm angry, I'm upset, it may be a "game" but guess what, this game helped me through a depressive period where I didn't leave the house for days on end or speak to anyone. Lame or not, I (and anyone else regardless of reasoning) are allowed to be upset. Honestly I'm scared my account may get deleted ~to note, no I have no proof or reason to think they may do this apart from the unprofessionalism shown thus far, and I'm not suggesting they will before anyone comes @ me). But wow, I really can't stay quiet. I was publicly called out without speaking to me privately because what I said was a mistake, then no response when I posted my side. Honestly I dont really want a response at this point. I just want to get my point across to other users. This may be a game, but the people involved are still public representatives of the company. That's like saying "oh no sorry we don't feel like giving you that Avi that you got the drops for, lol we are a game that has baby to what do you expectπ€·π»ββοΈπ€·π»ββοΈ". Any company should pride itself on the respectful and professional responses of representatives. Regardless of the nature of the service they provide. I really hope another member of the company comes out to correct this, as I (and I assume many others) are really willing to hear their side and listen. Sorry that last part wasn't really relevant to your comment specifically, I just ended up on a tangent lol
W I commend you for being semi professional this time, an improvement from the last comments. But if you donβt give a **** and just a messenger, if itβs possible maybe a developer can address the issues brought forward by players including the βmean onesβ in a Q&A. We need more viable answers than we are trying new things according to data.
Honestly that ended up not being related at all. I just completly lost the point I was trying to make, which I can't even remember tbh. It was meant to be related in the beginning. If I could delete the quote I would π€¦π»ββοΈ I'm going to go to bed I think
Though I know it's been tense, I really enjoy the amount of staff/player interaction happening. I would love to hear from the artist! One of my favorite threads was the one where Strange answered so many of our questions! I think parts of the player base forget there are actual humans behind the screens. Heck, I remember when I was a noob wondering if world chat was all just bots. π I personally really enjoy learning about the people and reasons behind a company, especially one I spend money with. And it's a technique I've found very profitable in my own sales. π You'd think wine would just sell itself *sigh*
OoooOOOooohhh itβs be super cool if you posted time span videos of the created art. I would watch the shit out of that!
I do like Marcie. Maybe we could discuss instead of threaten. Thatβs not me rolling over. Thatβs me knowing Iβve threatened before and had to eat my words lol. My friends here kind of trump minor mechanics issues. From years of experience, I know that ATA does pay attention to βrevolutionsβ. Letβs face it. We like it here. For so many different reasons.
Oh, it's refreshing to see those replies and it feels like a good start to settling things down. It sounds really interesting to hear from developers, too! A Q&A or just some more interaction to offer us more insight would be really nice, and could also be productive since lots of people here have nice suggestions. Looking forward to the next steps. I really hope we can find a middle ground and that things end up satisfactory for both ends. Still saddens me to think that there's a possibility of these changes being permanent because they really impact a lot of people's experiences negatively, but I'm hopeful. We'll see.
Exactly. I don't think people would be so upset if they didn't care about this game, myself included. While the uproar may be overwhelming, especially on the receiving end, it definitely underlines the fact that many people enjoy playing PIMD and want it to be successful -- just like the devs! In the end, we are all on the same page and we should keep that in mind. We may differ in opinion on the route(s) best to take, but we all wouldn't be here if we didn't give a damn, and that's the unified front we need to remember. π€
