McDonald's a franchise. The same kinds of opportunities listed in this post are tied in to all of them. Like when you play that Monopoly game and it says "redeem only at participating McDonald's... Yeah, the same thing applies for your benefits and salary. Most McDonald's offer minimum wage, minimal health plans covered mostly out of pocket, and configure your hours so you are not a full time employee. Only full time employees even get benefits or vacation. And that is usually reserved for management. This McLesson is very rare in the entry level service industry. So using it as a means to bash a raise in the minimum wage is disingenuous. Cost of living has outpaced wage growth for 60 years. 60 years. This is why most Americans live in debt and poverty from cradle to grave. I am glad your job and your story has turned out well. Don't pull the ladder up from behind you. Fight for the right for every worker to enjoy a living wage and benefits to care for themselves and their loved ones. You know who popularized the minimum wage: Henry Ford. Because he wanted his workers to be able to afford the cars they helped make and sell. We don't live in that world anymore because business degree touting Wall Street hooligans think we should be paid as little as possible so that the better kind of people can afford what we make.
So true. Any job is a real job. No one should feel superior or inferior over a type of job, the point is you're working for a living, what's the difference in the type of job you have, as long as you do something for your life and you live fine with your needs fulfilled?
Is that like on a public holiday or something? Don't mean to sound stupid but I don't know how you guys do it over there. Here, we get 8 days public holiday then a set number of holiday days, like mine is 27 days rising with service if you're full time but some companies offer more/less.
Better kind? Anyone whom can balance their lives finances can afford a personal means of automotive finance. They have a job and choose to cherish the freedom to use their funds on what's important to live
I receive an extra 8hrs(every recognized US holiday) as previously mentioned. Idk exactly the number of them. I'm guaranteed holidays like: Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas off with pay
I believe any job is fine so long as you save money and use it wisely. It's Capitalism every role needs to be filled it's the smart ones at the bottom that claw there way to a happy and financially fulfilling life.
Hypocrite, if you want to believe that, cool. I used to teach personal finance and was a finance counselor for a long while. I know the credit game, I know the pitfalls, and I know the walls anyone meets when cost of living meets substandard wages.
