Okay so this happened to me and my friends last thursday. I live in the country, by a deep woods with coyotes and other predators. Supposedly, a house down the road from mine is haunted. The story goes that a man killed his woman in the house; I kind of believe it because my best friend and I found shotgun shells inside of it. Anyway, a group of my friends and I walked down to the house and sat outside. After a few minutes of dead silence, a coyote howled and a knock came on the door. Suppressing the urge to scream and run away, I turned my iPhone recorder on and sat some more. After about 30 minutes, we went over what u recorded. A male voice came over the speaker, saying "silly girls." We freaked out but kept listening. Another voice came on again, but it wasn't a man. It was a woman screaming. Completely scared, we ran halfway to my house. When we stopped, it was by a dilapidated barn. Soon after, we heard a deep, guttural, feral growl from right behind. We screamed and ran back to my house. The next day I received a voicemail in a warped voice. It said, "Are you surprised I let you go home?" To this day, I'm still completely and utterly freaked out.
A college student was traveling home from school. As she entered one particularly long, dark stretch of forest, a car that had been following her suddenly raced up close, and the driver flashed his lights. She glanced up nervously in the mirror and accelerated in order to pull away. The car kept pace and again flashed his lights. Becoming terrified, she pushed her little car as fast as it could go. Again, the car behind her kept up and flashed his lights at her. Within moments, the student saw flashing blue lights from an approaching police car. Relieved, she pulled over to the shoulder and so did the car behind her. She watched as the police car pulled up behind them both, the officer quickly exited his car, and then raced to her car. The officer opened her door, yanked her out and pulled her, stumbling, to the front of her car. Flustered, she started to ask the officer what she'd done wrong. Before answering, he ran back to the car, and with his gun drawn, he opened the back door and shouted, "Get out of the car slowly with your hands in the air." As the college student watched in amazement, a large man holding a knife got out of the back seat of her car. As he was being handcuffed, the man from the other car told the college student that he was flashing his lights every time the man would rise up from the back seat to stab her.
A teenage boy drove his date to a dark and deserted Lovers' Lane for a make-out session. After turning on the radio for mood music, he leaned over and began kissing the girl. A short while later, the music suddenly stopped and an announcer's voice came on, warning in an urgent tone that a convicted murderer had just escaped from the state insane asylum — which happened to be located not far from Lovers' Lane — and that anyone who noticed a strange man lurking about with a hook in place of his right hand should immediately report his whereabouts to the police. The girl became frightened and asked to be taken home. The boy, feeling bold, locked all the doors instead and, assuring his date they would be safe, attempted to kiss her again. She became frantic and pushed him away, insisting that they leave. Relenting, the boy peevishly jerked the car into gear and spun its wheels as he pulled out of the parking space. When they arrived at the girl's house she got out of the car, and, reaching to close the door, began to scream uncontrollably. The boy ran to her side to see what was wrong and there, dangling from the door handle, was a bloody hook.
I heard about a girl who went back to her dorm room late one night to get her books before heading to her boyfriend's room for the night. She entered but did not turn on the light, knowing that her roommate was sleeping. She stumbled around the room in the dark for several minutes, gathering books, clothes, toothbrush, etc. before finally leaving. The next day, she came back to her room to find it surrounded by police. They asked if she lived there and she said yes. They took her into her room, and there, written in blood on the wall, were the words, "Aren't you glad you didn't turn on the light?" Her roommate was being murdered while she was getting her things.
