Incest is wrong for many reasons. The first child conceived of incest may not be inherently or noticeably “different” from other children but down the line the likelihood that the child’s offspring or its siblings having major health problems increases. There is also a theory/ study saying that if the parents are incest then most times the offspring will grow up believing it is okay/normal and also be into incest. This amount of inbreeding causes not only visual differences but mental and international problems. Like the clan of Incest family back in the 90’s. They were so inbred that the latest children (when discovered) had prolonged foreheads, horrible speech impediments, “mutations”, etc. the most heart breaking thing these children suffered from was/ is mental retardation. The incest they were bred from handicapped their minds. So in my opinion, incest is morally wrong because of the suffering and health problems the children and descendants go through simply because their mother/father “got off” with their sibling.
w a t But thank you to everyone who posted their opinions on this thread. I'm glad that it didn't start some terrible argument and end up in a lock. Instead, everyone got their opinions in without people getting triggered. Thanks for not burning this thread down. No seriously, I was already preparing myself for the worst. Thank god.
Also, I think part of the reason why everyone is so surprised, including me, might be in the way we were raised. If I remember correctly, it is rather common in Asian culture and Asian histories for their people to intermarry to keep their wealth within the family. One of my best friends was also born from "distant" incest, simply because of love. I definitely don't approve of it due to the health problems it may/will carry, but I've heard of it since childhood, so much that it almost doesn't feel like a foreign idea to me. To put that sort of somewhat familiar yet taboo tradition, against the idea of sniffing farts and liking them... I'm more surprised you think that the recent crazy kinks are less weird than incest. :/
Sorry if this has been spoken about, I only quickly glanced over the responses throughout this, but I understand questioning the moral aspect of it. Let’s take this situation, I’ve based it on something that happened to a classmate I have (it was insane hearing about it): There are first cousins or siblings who are separated, and don’t meet until far later in life (let’s say late 20’s) and their parents are mostly out of the picture or have passed. They’ve taken on the separate last names of the parent they were with as well. When they meet, they hit it off, and end up getting engaged. Now, the families are involved, and suddenly there’s a breakthrough in the knowledge of them being related. Now, ignoring the physical wrongs, as in a baby having some sort of issue, is that morally wrong? Assuming they are to adopt or get a surrogate.. Is it horrible if they stay together?
Honestly. In my opinion, Incest is intermediate family relations. Like father/daughter , mother/son, brother/sister etc etc. where you KNOW you’re related.
