  16.  80's still isn't considered oldies or "the past." Goths are just like every other social group. A bunch of kids trying to fit in together and be different. They're just a lot more morbid.

    It isn't "cool." It's an excuse to act like a sullen, whiny, "misunderstood" teenager. In other words, it's an excuse to act like every other teenager in the world.
