What if the gun falls on the ground and kills someone? Then it won't be because of humans, but because of the gun itself. Guns can kill people without another human to pull the trigger. I'd prefer a weapon-free world.
A gun isn't just gonna drop by itself. Only way it would fall and discharge is if you physically made it fall. You still killed them. Not the gun
Earthquake, my friend. Thats one example out of many that your gun could fall with no human interactions. If someone eats cereals and choke to death with their cereals, is the person who made those cereals responsible? Probably as much as a person who would drop their gun.
He stopped someone who was shooting and knifing ppl or he stopped an assault that he coulda stopped without a weapon?
He used the gun for a good cause. The gun saved a life. It doesn't matter what the assailant used as a weapon.
I think most of you are missing the point of state CCW programs. My state uses a HCP program instead, open or concieled. However the purpose of carrying a weapon is not to cause a danger to others, it is to be able to stop a serious threat to your life. If you ever find yourself in that situation wishing that you had a gun you would understand. Personally my Glock 33 goes everywhere I do.
