These unicorns are GORGEOUS! Wish they could be at least a very very very rare drop for f2p players. We have been waiting for new pets for a while after all. 🤧

So lets see. You can get the bronze subscription for 8.99 a month, for 5 vip tokens a day…. that’ll be about 300 days if you do the math for 1500 tokens. About 30 days a month on average. So that’s about 10 months. Times 8.99 (plus tax). About $90+. Or you could do the Silver. That’s 22.49 a month for 15 a day. That’d be only 100 days. Which is just a bit more than 3 months at 30 days. That’d be about $75 with tax. Little better. Last one would be the Gold Subscription at 73.99 a month. Gives you 50 a day. So that one’s easy. Just would need one month that’s 30(or 31) days. And it’d be 73.99. Plus tax of course.
So basically, if you want to get the unicorn pet…. be willing to fork over over $70 worth in micro transactions to a fun “free to play” game with in-app purchases who’s ticket price is through the roof.
No point in introducing new stuff if it all comes with some outrageous price tag. I’d’ve paid a one time payment of 19.99 for that. I do that sometimes with games and things, I’ll buy the booster pack starter pack whatever small but worth the price item they have for 1.99 4.99 9.99 19.99. Won’t really pay over $20 for some digital thing like that though. I’ve made little purchases over the years, and it’s all added up to cool stuff. I’ve gotten lucky with avis and furni. But the pay to play these days is ridiculous. Just btw.

Level 40 style is switched with the one that’s supposed to be bought with credits in game. “Winged Royalty” is supposed to be for currency but isn’t showing, but “Floral Fantasy” is in that place instead. Please fix this bug. 🖤

Why can't you make a Pet Capsule Unicorn? Feel sorry for the people who can't afford a Subscription. And for us who already used our Tokens on other stuff.

But wait, there’s more! Unicorn breakthrough items are only available by purchasing them with more vip tokens, so you’re not done spending after you buy the unicorn if you want to get it to a usable stat level.

Let’s also not forget how ridiculously hard it is to get ultra rare noms for a specific pet, which is made worse by the large number of categories diluting your chances. You can directly buy unicorn noms with vip tokens, and you will almost certainly have to if you don’t want to spend an eternity and a half waiting for them to drop normally from capsules.

Overall, I think this is a huge win for ATA’s whale milking machine and a big L for everyone else.

My VIP subscription ended after black friday, and tbh this doesn't make me wanna renew it. In fact it kinda makes me me more solidified in my decision not to so.

So, we finally got a new pet after ages, and it’s stunning! ✨something many of us have been asking for! But—just like many of you have already pointed out—this "exciting" update is basically locked behind a paywall. If you’re not already spending on the game, good luck getting it anytime soon or I can say the one who don't spend are basically out of luck.😩🤡

💸 VIP-Only Access: I gotta agree with what others have said, this is a huge win for the devs’ wallets and a big L for the rest of us. The pet is locked behind VIP tokens, meaning you either need to be a VIP subscriber for months or drop $70+ in microtransactions just to get it. And let’s not forget that upgrading it costs even more VIP tokens—so your spending doesn’t stop at just unlocking it. 🤯

🎲 Luck-Based Noms: I know if you buy the pet capsules for 1500 VIP token you'll definitely get that unicorn.🦄 But wait, there’s more! 🎭 If you do somehow manage to get the pet, good luck getting the right noms to level it up! The ultra-rare noms are spread across so many categories that unless you buy them directly (with more VIP tokens, of course), you’ll be waiting forever. ⏳

⚖️ What Happened to Affordable Styles?
Honestly, I remember when pet styles and options were way more affordable—49 or 99 ecs instead of the 199+ ecs we see now. And it's worth to mention that we used to get some good pet styles in Story pass or sometimes during an event for free. What happened to that? 😩 We asked for new pets, but instead of something fair for everyone, we got another "exclusive bonus" for high spenders.
Honestly, I’d be fine with spending a little if there were better value options (like a one-time pet purchase for 19.99 with some level up already instead of a never-ending VIP grind). But this? This just feels like a "whale-exclusive" event. 🐳

Where are the options for long-time players who don’t want to drop $70+ on a single pet? 😒
Would’ve been nice if they gave at least a base version of the pet for free, with paid options for styles and upgrades. That way, more players could actually enjoy the content instead of feeling completely left out. 😒

Congratulations Ata on yet another money grab. We should not expect any less at this point from a money hungry company. You definitely are making it easier to flip over and play different games

 

While I do agree it is unfortunate that it cost so many tokens to get the pet capsule and it’s not available for f2p players, there’s a few things that people are complaining about that don’t make sense.
Yes you can buy the leveling up material in store with the tokens, but the basic items are also available in both the 3 and 12 hr pet capsules if you have the pet.
Pros for the other more rare items - they drop in another pet capsule that seems to drop at 5 levels increments, similar to the way normal pets drop a crate for other material not in pet capsules. The only difference that I’ve seen is it’s a pet capsule, not a crate in your showcase.
Con to these items - The forum mentions this is random, and since my pet is only at level 5, I can’t say it’ll happen at each 5 level increment so token spending might happen more.
I think it’s fair to be upset that a new pet is not also available to f2p players, but remembering that making the subscription worth it for those that do pay for it has to be considered. Some sub payers may do it for the vip boxes and extra drops, but if the material you can buy with tokens isn’t updated it makes it less appealing and less worth paying for a subscription to the others that enjoy the new token exclusive drops.
Ultimately if you’re patient enough, you could spend significantly less tokens on material to level these pets up. This doesn’t change that it’s not available for the f2p players and there’s not something comparable for them but hopefully this clears up confusion that some may have because it did for me.
