Agree, if I block some crazy psycho I don't want them reading my wall and status to creep me (it's happened before) . Some people just can't get over things and in a way ATA are helping them too. If I know someone is creeping me I post things that I know will freak them out all the more. ATA need to implement honey's idea and help the slightly unhinged members of the community out a bit
That's a standard response from support, if I trawl my emails I have the exact same message numerous times, I'll try and find it, it's like it's a scripted response as used in call centres. Still highly unlikely to be implemented, a much better improvement would be a report button in my opinion. Cyber bullying is one of the most fastest growing things on the interweb, how would ATA feel if we had a scenario where we get what's happened recently on a different web application and is widespread news ATM. Blocking is first line defense but rather than worry about someone reading your wall, a report button seems more important to me in these day and ages, just my opinion. What would you have on your wall that you'd be scared of someone seeing? And surely if someone has annoyed you to block them then surely you wouldn't be posting stuff about that person anyway, would you? Otherwise why block them? Sorry I'm drunk as usual and just thinking out aloud
Perhaps you don't want someone creeping around your wall to see who is talking to you, what they're saying etc? After all, if you've fallen out and you've blocked them, you don't like them. Reporting someone is full of issues. A page I'm on on Facebook is plagued with false reporting from people who report people simply because they don't like them in attempts to get accounts banned. Could false accusations be considered cyber bullying?
I'm sure we are all going off the subject. It's not about cyber bullying that's a completely different and delicate subject. And I really don't care if someone I blocked see something they don't like. I do however care when they start following/ trying to become friends with anyone that post's on my wall. I'm sure a lo people will agree with this.
Caspy I agree with you. A report button could be useful but you will get people that will report someone just for the sake of it. After an argument or just simply because they don't like them. And there are other games which have this already so why can't we have it 2?
Quite possibly but if a company was stupid enough to not notice a certain user making repeated reports, Then I would question there ability to run a company, all chat logs are held in a database without a doubt and as soon as the report button is used, it flags the user, IP address, and captures the users chat logs. Could it be abused, of course it could, I'm not saying ATA can or cannot implement Honeys idea. I'm just saying highly unlikely to happen and in my opinion a report button would be more viable. Why would you be concerned of someone looking at your wall even if you did dislike them. After all it's a game and won't affect your real life unless you allow it to, which I guess it does/is to some people. Anyway I've posted my thoughts, down to mods to decide if they wanna pass this on cause devs 99% of the time won't see it. Support@athinkingape.com is a much better option if you really want this implemented, I'd be surprised if they do though.
If they start trying to befriend people that post on your wall then they're stalking you and maybe a little bit obsessed with you. Just saying.
