I had suggested earlier, I'll suggest again, for posting in wrong channel, silence should be only one day, and should not add up to silencing tiers. Create a seperate tier for wrong channel posting silenced. Ppl make innocent mistakes, they cannot and should not be equated with rings done with intent
It has been suggested many times, thats why wrong channel silences over 24 hours can be appealed for a reduced timer until there is a technical adjustment to silence tiers
Silences are based on how many you’ve had in a certain amount of time and we unfortunately cannot choose the duration of a silence. Since it’s a week though you should be able to get it reduced by completing a help ticket

No, silences go in tiers: 1 day, 7 days, 30 days. If you're at 30 days and get silenced again, you will just have another 30 days. Bans are only for serious infractions.

would be nice if they actually bothered to lift people’s silences. 30 day silence for wrong channel and they have not even bothered to look.
They are working on adding channel descriptions in a future update. I was informed this by a moderator.

I think it’s harder to see it on the original post for this thread specifically the summarize made similar/ breakdown from pimd discord server. New mods got green very early this time, probably because of the pressure felt by old mo It really is just a matter of updating the system. Wrong-channel posting can simply be made a violation to be moderated by Mods only. That shouldn't exactly bring the moderation team to its knees, considering we have considerably more Mods than we did earlier. The types of violations are already categorised, so the action for wrong-channel posting can be graduated as well. The first three instances could be treated as violations fit for warnings—for example, if someone posts in the wrong channel three times within a day or a week. Thereafter, a one-day silence could be imposed. The silence tiers could then be 1 / 2 / 3 / 7 days instead of 1/7/30 days, with the tiers dropping weekly rather than monthly. Simple, proportionate, and hardly revolutionary. All of this would, of course, require some coding. I assume the developers are capable of accommodating a reasonable allowance for the occasional innocent mistake. After all, not every misplaced post is an elaborate act of rebellion. And since poetry seems to be the preferred method of conveying disagreement, perhaps😜: If one posts in the wrong place, a warning will do; Repeat it three times, and silence follows too. So, beneath all the dramatic verse, the proposal remains what it was originally intended to be: a fairly straightforward system update, not the constitutional amendment some might have imagined.
