So far, the new chats have made things harder to interact… I hope that makes sense. Like lb calls are worse b/c most ppl aren’t even using the chat and have it disabled, idk how this affected flashes and bbb’s but I do think it made things harder for POTD clubs. And that’s not to say I think the update wasn’t needed, I just think the update didn’t level things out as much as devs would have hoped (if that was their goal). I do like how club chat is now that first thing, for ppl who aren’t entertained with the other chats and won’t have to scroll through several chats to get to club chat. Pub didn’t affect me so I have no thoughts to fully share on it—can’t speak on something I didn’t use. But making players change names is a bit much imo— I know if you send a help ticket they will give you a free name change, but if pub was the bigger issue, that should be the only thing that needs to have a drastic change. what I would like to see moving forward: more speakers/elimination of speakers. Game has so many chatty ppl that speakers and wide range of chats doesn’t help for the chatty players. And adding/pm’ing isn’t always what someone wants. I would also like to see some more actual updates in relation to what players respond to wanting/needing to make games more enjoyable—mass recycle button, mass delete button, group chat reactions, dark mode, making all Avis tradeable—we get so many Avis but half of the time it’s the gender we don’t want so it wastes away in inventory when there are other people who would love that avi but can’t get it for whatever reason (parties too slow to get drops, it’s a box avi, stats make it harder to reach the tiers quick enough, etc.) I would also like the option to search furniture when changing dorm instead having to rely on hoping a random player has the old furni that I desperately need—this wouldn’t take away trading either because some people would rather pay bentos than real money on furni, but it does make it better for players who are the opposite on currency means. lastly, if love to see the chances of items from boxes (furni, timer, and hunt) along with spinner have some real variety. I think once you get a certain item, your chances for getting it again should lower each time you receive that item (if possible). I know devs are already working on making growth a bit easier (and I think PvP more balanced) so I won’t speak on that for now since I know they are currently trying to address this.
The more I’ve seen this in action so far, the more I have mixed feelings about it. I think it does have the potential to be a really good community update, but elements of it also just stink of double standards. “Cosplay is not consent” is a fine line to draw, but aren’t IGNs kinda cosplay, too? The extremely suggestive avatars can stay, but god forbid someone have a IGN that is slang in a different language for something sexual. Plus, by pushing all ~sexual~ interactions to private messages where they aren’t moderated, it’s very “we wash our hands of this” and could lead to some really negative outcomes. I dunno, it’s very “think of the CHILDREN” on the one hand while also handing the children avatars dressed in nothing but aprons or lingerie or bubbles on the other hand.
Apparently now I have been silenced for my username, despite having an open ticket with ATA to try to change my username for free since I have no ECs. I have had this ticket open since I received the warning.
This is crazy. He even posted in this thread about having an open ticket shortly after he received the warning. Why are silences being handed out without giving people time to have their IGNs changed?? Not everyone has immediate access to ECs and we all know it takes a few days for tickets to get responses sometimes.
This is why I went ahead and changed mine after getting the warning. I wasn't done speaking in my ticket, so I’m waiting on them to continue the conversation at some point. I assume they’re receiving a ton help tickets at the moment, as they should, so I’m being patient. I am happy with a majority of this update and where the game was heading but I still think certain censorship choices are overboard and hypocritical. I’d love for the devs to hear us out and figure out a better solution
I did that as well, and was able to get my ECs refunded through a ticket. But my RS has literally 1 EC to his name, and shouldn't have to spend time trying to earn them or spend money to buy them just to avoid a silence. ATA told people to send them help tickets to get it changed for free and it isn't his fault that it takes a few days to get a response.
And It isn't ATA's fault either because I totally agree with you that I'm sure they're receiving a higher-than-normal volume currently. I wish there are just more communication between mods and devs that there would be a more realistic time between "receive warning" and "get silenced" for something that normally costs ECs to do.
Not to mention if you don't have the ecs to your name: it took multiple re-downloads of the game over the span of a few hours for my free name change to appear after ATA responded to my ticket.

Holy shit, I haven't been on for 2 days because I didn't want to see rp requests in student union chat. Every time I thought about getting on, I also thought "Ugh, rp requests."
Totally agree. Some more preparation and communication would go along way with helping the mods in the future. I feel like it puts the mods in an unnecessary and avoidable situation. Hopefully your friend will be able to get this rectified soon
