Hey, I'm almost done updating my guide to ECs (very due for an overall) and want to include a section about efficient ways to spend EC for various reasons (like spending EC in exchange for bentos etc). This is the last section I need to work on before the update goes live! What are your personal tips for spending EC? What are the best times to spend EC? What would you recommend not wasting your EC on? Any other useful information? I already will be including a link to @Vo's recommendations for when to purchase EC and other deals using irl currency, but I think it'd be helpful to give some tips for what to spend that EC on once you got it. Anyone whose information I decide to include in my guide will be receiving a shout-out in my accolades on the guide! Please tell your friends because the more info I get, the better.
I'm not sure if the previous guide has this, but a tip I was told that's pretty good is to wait for the EC XC. Even better if you time the EC XC with the collectathon so you can hit both XC at the same time.
Ah, that's excellent! I forgot about that XC. I guess the same would go if you're going to sell invites, for the XC that counts dropping them. Buy them and drop them during both or either one of the XCs to maximize benefits. Thanks!
Since I’m f2p, I try to spend my ecs wisely. Spoiler: “Best times to spend ecs?” : the big holidays such as black friday, Fourth of July, new years, valentines, etc. Normally better deals are put out around these times so its good to be preparing for the upcoming events. Invite season can be good for you to stock up on cash and grow your account. Or you can bulk buy and sell for profit. It’s a good idea to check periodically with molly’s deals. You could score hunt furniture for cheaper, if you wanted to spend ecs on them, since they normally have buy one get these free offers that vary in the pieces. Sometimes care packages are on sale and I believe that is a good use for people who are low on them or need them often. I haven’t done this next one but I assume it makes sense. If you have the currency for it and it’s available for ecs, buy molly exclusive furniture or stats to resell for a good amount of bentos. If it’s a popular item/ theme, you’ll get a good profit I’d hope. Spoiler: “What would I not spend on?:” Speaker tokens, speed ups, slow jams, pizza bikinis, and jd’s surprise party box. I don’t feel that theyre worth it. I dont talk much in the channels where speakers are needed. Because of this I also avoid buying the name spells that cost ec, since they dont last long and are only visible when speaking there. Pet speed ups will accumulate with growth. Slow jams will too and i think it’s probably a better deal to buy them from someone with chibis if its that big an issue. Kinis are sadly, just about obsolete. Better to win them than spend ecs on them. The box doesn’t seem great to me, since it gives me amps mostly, but maybe someone who likes them might disagree. Raffle tickets are an iffy one. If you win it’s great, but if not then you wasted ecs basically. A personal choice, whether the prize seems worth whatever you put in. I normally buy a couple if I don’t care too much, since I’d been having okay chances with them the first few times. I don’t normally buy avis unless its the 5-15 ec avis. Pet skins, I’d probably also say arent the best use of ecs. But back when they were sold in store, I do remember waiting for the sales and I bought a couple maybe in my beginning time because they’re a limited thing. Personally, I prefer to use ecs for dogs, cats, and story passes. Occasionally I might’ve spent some on a hunt gift for a friend. Since they have stats, I consider it an okay use. Story passes are probably the best use for them I’ve felt so far. Avis, furni, a story, and lots of other prizes—including cats and dogs (hopefully). I usually make sure that I feel the story pass has enough rewards to make me feel it’s alright to purchase it. Always super grateful to the guides people put together to break down and compare the costs of the rewards from story passes. Ultimately though, the ecs belong to the person who has them. As long as they’re happy with the purchase it’s what matters. For some that is achievable with collecting shard avis for which they opened boxes. Others collect furni. Some might want a fite bar. Others just want to grow the account. An emoji lover might want all the sticker packs! The different uses and how you spend it are gonna matter on the game you want to play within pimd.
This is fantastic and is exactly the info I was wanting! We have the same thoughts overall over what is beneficial but there's some things in there I wasn't thinking of like the benefits of buying a story pass using ECs! Glad to have it from specifically a f2p perspective, as while I wouldn't call myself a big spender, I have spent quite a bit of money on here over the years that many players wouldn't spend (and many others would find just pocket change lol). I'm looking for all sorts of perspectives and opinions!
I’m also a f2p player and get essentially all of my ecs from the offer wall, and I agree with everything except the raffles, which I actually think are good value. I typically despise gambling, but surprisingly, I found that raffles have the best ec:🍱 conversion rate out of anything in the game, and I’ve gotten 1🍱:5-12 ecs, considerably better than the typical 1🍱:25ec rate. Raffle boxes typically go for 2-4🍱 depending on the occasion and depreciate quickly, so you can earn a lot of 🍱s by selling them off as soon as you get them. The caveat is that raffles are the perfect example of a zero-sum game, and the more people who participate, the less rewards each player gets. I’ve noticed that the rate of return is trending downwards and the natsu matsuri one had the worst rate by far, although it was still significantly better than 🍱:25 ecs. It’s definitely possible that raffles won’t be worth it anymore as they get more popular. I also wouldn’t recommend joining the current raffle since you can’t get any real raffle boxes from them. IIRC, the only rewards you can get are decor boxes, which aren’t worth as much.
I think this largely depends what you want to get out of your EC spending. If you're looking for bentos opening shard boxes can be a very lucrative way to get them, as was highlighted by the wild prices on these throwback shards. Another decent option to turn your EC into bentos is to capitalize on monthly furni, depending on market demand it can go higher than the standard rate of 1b per 25ec. Selling EC gifts or party drops typically follows the 1b per 25ec pricing, and if you're looking for bentos it's a reliable way to get them if you are frequently spending EC. I wouldn't recommend this to someone who does not spend a lot of EC. Trading 1:1 ec gifts can sometimes be easier than trying to buy the gift with bentos. For players who don't have a lot of EC to spend I recommend saving it up for content you want that can not be bought with bentos, or when the bento price is worse than the ec price. Again, throwback shards are a good example of this if you are someone who wanted to collect one of the avis. Sometimes this can apply to the story pass as well, depending on demand for it price can go up. Molly's sometimes has some ec deals in there, so if you're someone who sees content they like in Molly's shop saving it up for that would be good. It can be a good last resort to spend to find a monthly item from the shop that you just can't find after months of searching. If the goal is to upgrade your account then you can save all your EC and DNs to spend during BF for half priced cats. I think opening boxes trying to chase an avi is the worst way to spend your EC. I have done it, and it was a very long and expensive chase.
My tip for the poor ones who don't buy ecs is save all year and spend on cats on black Friday when they're 50% off. Also, ata, make dogs also 50% off, it's unfair only cats get discount. And since we're on it, make kinis also 5x payout and half off.
Totally agree on saving for BF. If you buy enough cats, you can continue to use them throughout the year too.
I’ll start by the question “Any other useful information?” “Extra Credits, typically shortened to EC, are a form of in-game currency. A lot of inexperienced players may refer to them as "gems" or "diamonds".” = for new players I often said that it cannot be gift / trade to a player and sometimes I see it refer as little orange diamonds/ orange thingy. Are you going to include the RevU wall and the pimd webstore in this new update? I agree with other players. It’s your E.C. It’s your choice (your decision). I will literally quote @_HeIium_ as it’s the best advice that can be given. I would recommend for new players who started less than 3 hours on the game not to panic to spend thousand of money (couple bucks) to earn ec and waste them in a game to get an avatar (aside of the starter ones) or to purchase the furniture key (the cutter ) to complete the tutorial quests in order to progress. You can cast that task aside and see if you like the game. Most people I met who done that quit after less than 2 weeks. If anyone has an insight for the dates, I’m a taker. For example, some players spend for the pink or purple date & others plan to spend for” payout cash bonus “ date promo The 59 E.C.= VIP French Restaurant 3x promo on in 2019-2023 Or the 44 E.C. = the Light Up the Sky - 300% Cash boost What are your recommendation (s) / thought (s) ? should à player be at a certain stats (combined stats ) or like under 500 kcs players, we can see already worthy to spend on it ? Anything else on it?
This is all great information and tips! I will be including the offer walls including the new RevU one in this update.
I spent my ecs on "Frank's Tank" and the "Jetpack". And during the Black Friday Hynocat sale. I just don't think you get the benefits worth the effort to earn if you don't spend money.
