Wildlife sanctuaries DO exist, but they aren't as safe as a zoo. No, zoos aren't created for protection of endangered animals, but the animals receive care and attention like they wouldn't in the wild. In a wildlife sanctuary, poachers can still get to the animals. How many zoo break-ins have seriously happened? Nobody wants to risk breaking into a zoo. That's ludicrous. Generally, animals roam freely in sanctuaries and can attack each other or be attacked by poachers. They also are tagged or branded, which sucks for the animal.
If you're in solitary confinement in a prison you're also safer from getting killed by sporadic gunfire/cars/suicide bombers/falling pianos/crazy ex-gf but I doubt most ppl would trade their freedom Reminds me of a cat I got from shelter years ago, as soon as I brought to my apartment, was literally 10 minutes and it jumped through a window screen on second floor and I never saw it again :?
Prove otherwise before you make that statement. Why do you think Zoos protect many endangered species in the first place?[/quote] That's what I'm saying! How many non-endangered animals are in zoos? Lions, tigers, some bears, flamingos, some breeds of birds, penguins, some snake breeds. The list can go on FOREVER. Just because they make profit from society, zoos are a bad thing? I think not. Better that my kids can go to our zoo and stare in amazement at the animals and learn about their individual history than hear about YET ANOTHER poacher killing a wild animal.
Leave them alone and don't encroach on their habitat...they can take care of them self they don't need us
Cats and humans are not a good comparison. Cats are finicky anyway. It had probably been in the shelter two weeks. Prison is designed for long-term "treatment," from 1 year to several years or decades, even. But since you want to compare a cat to a human, I'll play along. Yes, I enjoy my freedom. BUT if my family, or my life were in danger, and the ONLY place for me to be was the hole in a prison, I'd take that opportunity, hands down, because even though it's not freedom, I'm alive and safe. I may forget how to function for awhile after being released, but I'd learn how. Same thing with a sheltered cat. They want to live, too. No matter what, every living being just wants to be alive, regardless of their surroundings.
1. How are wild life sanctuaries not safe? 2. Life should be big, not long..I'd rather die a free soul than live in confinement
1. Government spending isn't huge, a.k.a. less support and financial aid for the facilities and animals. That being, since it's a WILD LIFE sanctuary, it naturally becomes unsafe. 2. Your opinion is trash and does not belong in this topic since it's about what's right for animals
1. I think Youre contradicting yourself...they're called wild animals coz they've been made to survive in the wild...the don't need facilities (cage) and they can hunt their own food...there's something called the eco-system which has a self mechanism of keeping the balance 2. My opinion isn't trash...your thought process is trash...what gives you the right to take away the freedom of animals? Who are you? Youre just another insignificant person trying to defy nature
1. Animals born in cages, raised in cages, and have mated in cages are NOT made for the wild. They are not called wild animals, they are called Domesticated Animals. So you are wrong in saying I have contradicted myself. These animals are not built for the wild, because they are dependent on humans. Think about it dummy. If they were meant to survive in the wild, survive off of your made up nature "balance, then why are MOST animals in Zoos endangered? So, who are you to deny a species to continue existence? Take the L 2. Your opinion is very much so trash because it doesn't signify any importance to how life should be lived. So don't bring it up in the argument, you have no right to dictate that. With all that being said, how am I trying to defy nature when I support saving multiple endangered species from going extinct at the hands of humans? The world' isn't all wild life, survival of the fittest anymore. Endangered species can't fight back against humans. You support death, it looks like.
