Katalina ignored the noise coming from outside. "It's just the wind, or an animal," she thought. She continued to sob into her knees, pulling them tighter and tighter against her chest. Her nails dug into her skin as her grip tightened. She was finally at her breaking point. Yes, this must be rock bottom because there was no way in the world that this could ever be worse. She had stolen the heart of her best friend's boyfriend, and lost her true love while she did. The tears stung her eyes and she looked under her thighs where her nails had made cuts. The blood very slowly dripped out. Katalina suddenly knew what she had to do. She tried to get up off the floor, but she was too weak. Stumbling, she stood up, only to fall right back down with a giant thud. After multiple tries, she scrambled to her dresser on her hands and knees. Neatly placed in her last drawer was a little pink razor. She couldn't decifer wether she was happy or not to see it. All she knew was that it needed to be done. There was no one there anymore for her; no one. She felt so alone in the world, but no one could give a damn. She crawled back over to her spot next to her mirror. She sat down, back in the position with her back against the mirror and her knees pulled tight against her chest. She grasped the razor in her right hand and held her left arm out. She delicately placed it ontop of her wrist. She braced herself and glided it across her skin. Her blood slowly dripped onto the floor. The pain sunk in and the water works started up again. She let the blood and tears flow and leaned her head back to wail again. When she did so, she saw a dark figure creeping in the shadows out on her balcony. Her eyes widdened in horror and the figure stepped out of the darkness. She cried as he realized what she had done and he ran to her. She muttered under her breath as she was soon surrounded by his embrace, "Charlie." "Shhh," he shushed her and he held her close in his arms. He too started to choke up a bit at the sight of her. But he stood strong, and didn't cry a single tear. He held her face close to his chest as she sobbed into it. "Baby girl, I am so sorry for what I did to you. Baby, I'm sorry. I should have never pushed you to this. I knew you were delicate, yet I was an ass anyway and made you come back to this." Katalina cried more into him as she listened to his words. "Katalina, I am so sorry Baby. But just know this, I will stand by you. I will help you through whatever when you've done everything you can do and can't cope. I will dry your eyes. I will fight your fight. I will hold you tight, and I promise to never let go. Honey, I love you. I love you so much. Please forgive me." Katalina's tears slowed so that she could talk. "Charlie," she started, then gasped for air between sobs. "I love you too." She slung her arms around his neck and hugged him tight. Charlie breathed a sigh of relief. "Sweetheart, don't you ever scare me like that again." He took her wrist, which had now stopped bleeding, and kissed the pain away. Then he held her close in his arms, refusing to let go of what he almost lost. Katalina let one more tear fall, and Charlie wiped it away. He held her in his arms like a baby and stood up. He carried her carefully to her bed and layed her down. She crawled into a little ball and he crawled in on the other side. He pulled her to him, her back to his chest while they both layed down on their sides. Her pulled her into him til they were almost one. He wrapped his arm around her and rubbed her torso soothingly until she fell asleep in his arms. He kissed the top of her head and fell asleep next to her, not wanting to be anywhere else.
