I would be equally mad if Tiana would be casted with a light skin, blond hair, blue eye actress. You dont go to disneyland or disneyworld and see the princesses looking different to what they are portrayed as in the classics. Princess and the Frog original story before disney was always seen with a light skinned girl but now that disney Tiana is made she will always be seen as a princess of colour. âď¸
I'm disappointed. While I will get over it, I'm going to be disappointed.... I understand a want to diversify and cast based on talent, but... Yeah... I'm going to be disappointed.... It won't be Disney's the Little Mermaid to me. I've not been enjoying these live remakes in general very much though. I feel as though creativity in finding new stories has been thrown out the window.
Letâs not act like theyâre wonât be another remake of these movies in the future. And who knows the cast might be all aliens. Thatta be dope. Anyways. I donât care for it. I hope it does justice to those who do care bc itâs a big thign for them and theyâll be extra hard on em for the original being apart of their childhood and such
The original story was a part of my childhood and Disney can suck it for not killing off Ariel and letting them get married. How dare they
Was going to reply to this very rudely and hurt your feelings, but instead I chose to come at you respectfully.. For future reference, please do not refer to Ariel as Blackriel again because itâs rude and racist .
Oh please get over it. So what sheâs black instead of white. Do you think Nickelodeon cared that they white washed the hell out of avatar when it was CLEAR that sokka and Katara where darker skinned. Did they care no! Granted that movie was terrible from the start but so what. This is a remake people! Itâs not going to be exactly like the original.
People legitimately let any and everything bother them, even the color of a fictional mermaid in a fictional story. Couldnât be me.
I understand itâs from peoples childhood and you want it to be the same but they chose her because she has a good voice and showed she could act well as Ariel. Kinda disturbing how upset people are over this. There so many white princess youâll live with a black actor playing Ariel. Also Pocahontasâ whole story is literally about her being native where as Ariel being white is never relevant whatsoever.
Well if they cared they couldve made a better movie, another example of changing cast from original character being a bad idea
She probably got the role because her voice was better than anyone else who auditioned. I donât mind black Ariel. I also would like to add that I donât think Arielâs skin color was even mentioned in the stories. I think people just settled on white cuz âwhite is rightâ
Brandy is still always and forever my favorite Cinderella, and its still my favorite remake of a classic. It was beautifully done, the songs and cast were phenomenal and I think this is gonna be a great experience either way with the Little Mermaid. Honestly? Its the two cake thinking. Even if one isnt perfect or up to everyone's standards, its just more of my favorite princess and fairy tale to enjoy.
Yâall hate black women so much lmao. I like the white tears though đđžââď¸đ đž keep up the good work
