I worked in a hotel as front desk supervisor and later houseteam (housekeepers, laundry, breakfast, houseperson, etc) manager for 5 years at $13/hr. then i left and got a job doing demolition. I have fewer responsibilities, get paid more, I'm training to be a foreman (supervisor kinda) which will pay more, and I'm taking classes to do asbestos work now which will pay even more. So I should be making around $19/hr base pay, and we have another school job coming up doing asbestos for 2-3 weeks which will be paying around $56/hr ? Much better off than at the hotel tbh.
5 years ago, doing random jobs for the family because art didn't really work out. I didn't know what I want. I had a lot of self-discovery to do and self-improvement. I was pretty new in pimd around this time but I had posted a bunch of comics and threads which I'm glad people enjoyed. Definitely a good confidence boost. I'd just gotten the honor student award as well but I think it was all good timing coz I didn't even know it was a thing that time. I think I was a lot friendlier and more idealistic as well? Now, I'm crankier and a lot more cynical and sarcastic. I don't think that's a good thing. I'm at least at a better path since I have an idea of what I want since I took up culinary school. It's a daunting path but at least it's a path that doesn't bore me. Still have a lot of self-discovery to do. My love for food, video games, travel and dogs have never changed. Although somewhere along the way, I have begun to appreciate cats more.
I left PIMD 5years back and life was much more real and wonderful. I joined PIMD a month back, Killing my personal life again!
5 years ago, I was a 17 year trying to finish high school a year early (and I did). I went to community college for a year & transferred to a university. I decided to major in nursing with a minor in psychology. Spent 3 1/2 years there. Now, I am seeking work as a nurse, but work in my city's hospital as a CNA. Still looking for the one ?
Sounds like you’re gonna be much better off but busy as hell.. do you enjoy it? Also, please be careful, asbestos is hell crazy stuff
Your art is amazing, don’t ever forget that I guess it’s really hard to make a living from it though. I always loved your threads, they made forums fun for me you’re definitely crankier, but it’s cute coming from you for some reason and to be honest, from the pics I’ve seen of your food, sounds like you’ve found another artistic outlet that’s perfect for you!
Late entry by me again. Prior to posting on your "Who are you" thread, I feel obligated to answer your new thread here. Anyways. I don't parkour anymore and have switched it to learning Muay Thai and Heavy Sword Fencing with a German Longsword with a few friends. Both of them are fun! I get to spar next week in Fencing. ? Idk what else honestly.
I applaud you, nursing isn’t a job for the weak! sounds like you’re super smart too, finishing school early! And I hope you find them some day
Parkour is seriously awesome, but I can see how it would get tougher as time goes by, muay thai looks deadly I do love the stances for kickboxing, looks like it takes more strength.. and holy crap longswords whut? Interesting hobbies you’ve got there Wyatt ?
