I have a few: 1. Spiders/insects/snakes. 2. Sharks/getting lost at sea. 3. Death. 4. Crowds/mob mentality/mosh pits. 5. Becoming fat. I am aware of how shallow this makes me sound, but it really is my greatest fear. When I was in middle school, after failing to make the cheerleading squad, my dad told me it was probably because I still had a "little belly." I was a normal size. My mom has always stressed my weight since then as well. My life since then has been a constant struggle to never wear above a size 6. Being bigger than that makes me feel like a complete failure. Like my parents will no longer be proud of me. 6. Failure. That was long. Haha. Sorry about that! Just felt like I should explain the reasons behind that one fear.
Failure, being alone, and getting judged for my looks, and probably about getting fat. It seems really shallow of me to say that, but all my life I've gotten picked on for my weight/appearance/height. ,_,
In my personal opinion I don't think I'm fat. Even taking the BMI thing it said I had a healthy weight, but I haven't been eating a lot lately. In Grade 6 the kids said I was the fattest girl in the grade. Oh well.
(This poem is stolen from the movie "coach carter" and pertains to this thread and topic. Keep an open mind") What's your deepest fear? “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
