Dialogue would be written like this: "No, I haven't eaten, Rae," Devon answered. The first letter should be capitalized with a comma (or some other punctuation) at the end and no spaces between the quotation marks. Proper nouns like Raven, Netflix, Scandal, etc. should be capitalized. Don't worry, those mistakes are pretty easy to fix.
Okay ....so those are the ones I said the iPad made. Those are really minor. You guys made it seem as if you couldn't understand what I was writing. That is why I took it the wrong way. I will TRY to make sure these errors don't slip by but I'm not perfect. Sorry in advance again for any errors.
And fallenangel you can write dialog anyway you want. I've been writing for years. I've had tons of English teachers and professors tell me that. They told me the English language is always changing. Writing is unique because it will not always be the same. So it SHOULDN'T have to be written that way lol.
There are also grammar mistakes, which I didn't point out because I knew it would be received badly. That's true -- you don't have to write dialogue that way. It's generally perceived as proper grammar, though, and everything else is seen as "incorrect". If you want to write a different way then go for it. Nothing's stopping you.
Yeah I understand. I won't receive it badly. If it's in quotation it will most likely be breaking a lot of rules lol. I tend to write the way I talk a majority of the time . Thank you for your input and I will keep it in mind in the next part. Thank you
