  2. Re: Guide Rules to Trading

Other rules are up as well guys. Like I said again... If you are so worried about your items don't trade at all or only with players you know.

As I also said on the stand still if you decide to trade with players you don't know...

    1) either walk away with your item

    2) take the chance & trade.

This all comes down to you guys & how bad you want to trade. No one is making you not trade or trade. That lands on you yourself. Trade at your own risk if you do not know the the player. Common sense.

  3. Re: Guide Rules to Trading

This isn't concrete rules on how to get a trade done. We players started this trading thing. All this is just simple easy basic rules to help players not get scammed.

Rule 1 would for the most part always be a safe trade. Its the trading with players you don't know that gets ppl scammed.

@Fallen yes, I know this and it's why I said trusted trader posts are not a 100% guarantee.

  9. Re: Guide Rules to Trading

Hope I get this changed soon by support or Blunty. Didn't mean it so much as rules more like guidelines or tips.

But yes I hope it does help some ppl out.

  10. Re: Guide Rules to Trading

    1) trading should be common sense and there shouldn't be set rules for it.
    2) people can get alts or friends to post to make them look like trusted trades.
    3) you can't ask players to stick to trading with only their stats because they most likely won't get what they need. And that's why they need to trade with higher stats.

  11. Re: Guide Rules to Trading

As I said to others as well as posted on the note in red under trusted trader its not a 100% guarantee. As for the last part of your post honey it is also why I added in other tips. Most are not taking the whole thread in for what I've said just bits and parts. I started with the safest way any player can trade. The rest are mostly for ppl who trade with players they don't know.

  12. Re: Guide Rules to Trading

The sticking to players around your stats goes to rule/tip #4. This is only said bcuz many players get upset when they can't do anything bcuz the other said player is out of stat range. If a player stays to same or close to stat range they can farm. If they are that hurt over the scam that is.

As I also said in the post above that its not meant so much as rules but guidelines or tips.

  13. Re: Guide Rules to Trading

I understood what you said. What I am saying is that it's not really the best thing to recommend for a smaller star player. Or they won't be able to get items because as you know the drop rate on smaller players is a lot lower. If they stick to trading only with their stat range they be will be lucky to get items if they are a lower stat player.

?just my opinion but I'm sure people will find this helpful :)

  14. Thread is fixed. Anyways...

At that point I would say to stick to tip 1&2 Honey. Also read the conclusion part. Best to know what value you put on your items. Then question if the trade is worth it or not.

  15. Also always keep a link on your wall until deal is done. If their link is there you can farm them. Also remind then before doing the trade that you can farm them through the link

  16. ? Tips on spotting a scammer
    1) Ask around to see if the person you're trading with is a scammer (mainly people you trust since trolls and other scammers will give you mixed answers)
^ Always the best option to ask around whether it's friends, trusted players (Honor students are an example) people they've traded with or even in campus (Id say forums but there are too many trolls and it would spam forum)

    2) Gift box is spammed out to hide gifts from previous trades (say 50x spam of Zola colas or the new gift heart). This can be a sign that the person you're trading with may be a possible scammer.
^ This is usually a clean slate for them to say "I never traded with such and such, see? I never got an item from them." Also makes it so you can't look at their old trades to see if they actually sent items back to those they got items from.

    3) Check their wall, most scammers (that I've seen) will go to pm instead of walls to hide any information of the trade and keep others from warning you.
^ This means stay on walls (gives you a quick link to them and shows that there was a trade and what it consist of)

    4) Do they seam too eager to trade or does the deal sound too good to be true? Possibly it is too good to be true and the eagerness is due to the level of happiness they are at which is usually the lowest level, (Laetus) Instant Gratification.
^ Make sure the trade looks realistic since trades are meant to benefit both parties, as well as take your time and not rush into a trade.

    5) Do they look inactive? If they look inactive, have low stats(not always low stats), yet have good combined items. Be weary. This is usually a sign of an alt. Alts hide their active main which has their precious  and keeps their name clean. Most Alts won't care if they are strip farmed so trading with them means you will never see your items again if they scam you. No matter how much you hit or threaten or bash their name around.

? Just adding this to this thread since it's relevant, hope it helps if not oh well. Happy hunting and keep your morals 

  17. These tips work vice versa for scammers too. 

  18. Gotta love that twilight GIF lol... and yeah the 'trusted trader' mark ain't always legit. I got scammed by a 'trusted trader' so now I plain out just don't send first. Then I have people telling me well YOU must be a scammer coz you wont send. No. I've been scammed 3x on here. That's enough. I don't trust people on here anymore unless we've actually spoken and or are following each other etc. But yeah lost my poop when I was accused of a scammer coz apparently that's how scammers act? There's a difference between being a butthead scammer and being sick of being scammed by buttheads...

  19. Rabbit I never accused you of being a scammer. But I have seen scammers who use the excuse not to send first of, "I've been scammed before and don't trust people".
Just look in my accepted gifts to check whether I am legit or not. It is the best way.

  20. @MrByte yes it can happen with scammers using simple tips players already use. Sorry it's how scammers get better at things. Like the trusted trader was started to help see who's a gd trader or not. Now scammers are doing gd trades to get the post or getting friends to do it.

Anyone can ask Night (^up a few posts) I also told her I don't trade 1st. She did come to me with a reasonable trade bcuz we were trading many items. Even with all of her trusted trader marks I didn't agree to send 1st.

I would of walked away from that trade tbh. I like my stat items & don't want to be scammed. As I'm sure many others feel the same way.

This is why it is just tips. Bcuz we have no perfect way to trade safe. Unless you don't trade at all or just follow tip 1.

When I say know the value of your item, money, & cats... What I mean is how important are they to you. For example if someone gave me a trade asking for the bae dancer vs their key, I'd probably gift 1st with no worry. Why? Low stat item. If they say a pug vs key, yea I want them to trade 1st. Much bigger stat item.
