  1. That map is weird.

  2. Edinburgh/London is 8pm I think normally is

  3. Wow that took a lot of time to do  I just go on clocks on my iPhone and save the times of the US so I roughly know the times

  4. I'm not in that time zone I'm in California

  5. sad to see theres no Philippines in there

  6. I was so sure that Guam is not gonna be on here because it's so rare that someone knows about it, but I was wrong. Lol.

  7. There's Manila. ??‍♀️

  8. No, the time changes to Standard in October in the US so the kids aren't trick or treating in the dark (true story).

  9. I will clarify standard/daylight savings time for you. I even see Americans confused by it. We say, "spring forward, fall back", as in the time goes forward an hour in the spring (daylight savings time-summer time) and falls back an hour in the fall (winter time- standard time). The "S" means standard, the "D" means daylight. The time always changes on a Saturday night/early Sunday morning to give workers a night to adjust a bit before Monday morning. Our time goes into Daylight Savings Time the second Saturday of March, and goes to Standard time the first Saturday of November (it used to happen earlier, but we stay in Daylight Savings now for Halloween for the kids and to apparently reduce crime, lol, that changed a few years ago).

Those of you who live closer to the Equator may think it's irrelevant because your seasonal differences in daylight hours don't fluctuate as much. When I was in Costa Rica, the sun rises around 5-6am and sets around 5-6pm year around, so the don't have Daylight Savings Time. But where I live, the sunrise and sunsets vary by 4 or 5 hours over the year, and is even more extreme the further North you go, so the time changes cushion this a bit. So like it or dislike it, but for me it makes sense for us living further away from the Equator. I'd hate to be forced to wake up at 4am in the summer because the sunlight is filling my room 😂 Cheers!

  10. TIME ZONES

Time zones can be complicated as it doesn’t align every 365,25 days with everywhere globally.
Some players used UTC or GMT or their personal time zone to understand when changeover occurs.
For the purpose of the POTD thread where you cannot put all the time zones. Here is an idea.
Considering, ATA is on PDT time zone, changeover occurs at 12 pm. When it turns 12 p.m. PDT. There’s a list of what happens from March 28, 2022 and onward [until I am notify of something new].

Please understand that my intentions was to help. It always best to check for your location personally on your browser to make sure as I could have make mistakes. I did not include everywhere. I would definitely need help if I ever create an official guide WHICH THIS IS NOT.

  12. @GoddessHailey very cool, you could make a new thread for this and talk about their relevance for pvp/club building.

  13. Unfortunately, I am not well knowledgeable for the relevance of time zone with club building / pvp (If I interpreted correctly)

At that time, I was told it was unnecessary to create a new tread. It was best to use the current one.

  14. Hmmm... Fair enough. It could be a guide all its own.

For club building, often the owners will try to ensure they have admins in a variety of timezones so that they'll recruit people from all around the world so that the club won't have downtimes and will be more sfw-ready. A club full of Americans or Pinoys is susceptible to sfw as anyone looking in will know everyone's timezones automatically which saves lots of time and effort which would otherwise be spent figuring out individuals.

You could also add a link to the club recruitment thread

    https://forum.partyinmydorm.com/threads/post-your-club-banner-here-.125116/

PvP is the main use for knowing/understanding time zones, and probably the reason this thread was made in the first place.
If you can find out what someone's timezone is, you can often accurately predict when they'll be asleep or occupied at work and thus susceptible to strip-farming.

And then you can attach a link in that section to the best guide to strip-farming.

  15. I live in Alberta Canada, and the city I’m in is MST any idea what would that be?

  16. “any idea what would that be?”
What are you are referring to?? Time zone compare changeover? To daylight savings / standard saving ? Or something else ? Cuz it’s true some cities within a province or a state could have a different time zone but if we don’t know the city you are referring to. The best is to check on google (internet browser of your choice) if you feel this is sensitive personal information.

Changeover would be at 1 pm MST for Alberta Canada
