Neeka and Phoebe woke up the next morning just before Dawn broke. Neeka was the first one to awake, and looked around the small room she was sharing with Phoebe. Phoebe was still asleep, her feet dangling out the end of the bed next to Neeka's. Neeka laughed. "OI, lazy! Time to get up." Phoebe moaned, and rolled herself up in a ball in an attempt to stay in bed a little longer. After a good half hour of packing up their things and making sure they were ready to set off, they finally managed to make their way downstairs. Phoebe gave the key back to the barman behind the counter. He looked worn out and in much need of a rest. "Thanks." she smiled at him. "No problem. Visit anytime!" They exited Lucifer's inn and continued on walking down the long stretch of cobble-stoned road. The sky was dark blue, the sun not yet risen and the birds not yet singing. A cool morning breeze brushed across their faces, and their bare arms. They chatted amongst themselves as they strolled away from the inn. Their voices becoming distant muffles. Neither of them however, looked back. If they had just done this small action, then they would realise that they were being watched by the eyes of Koldo. He was watching them with sharp stare, a fire burning in his eyes between the cracks of the inn's door. It was only until Phoebe pulled out her map from her bag, that a smile framed the face of Koldo.
"So.. Where are we exactly?" asked Phoebe confused. Neeka sighed and pulled out her map. She traced the map with her fingers. "I think.. We're near Haitz (pronounced Heights) market." "Man.. So many different names.." mumbled Phoebe under her breath. Neeka nodded her head, agreeing with her. "Yep, you can say that again." "Man.. So many different names.." repeated Phoebe, a cheeky smile on her face. Neeka gave her an unsatisfied glance. "Sorry." The two finally arrived to Haitz market. Haiz market was famous for it's various amount of stalls, and for the amount of activity that goes on. From over 300 stalls to browse and buy from, to incredible street acts. There would be dancers prancing the streets, jokers pulling off their most newest and well rehearsed tricks, there would be fortune tellers trying to predict people's futures. From the hippies smoking weed to the beauty pageants. Everything an anything was at this market. "Look at this place!" screamed Phoebe in excitement. Both of them looked in amazement at what they saw. There was so much Colour infront of them, music was playing so loud, and the streets were just swamped with people from all cultures. "Keep your map safe.. And stay close." said Neeka.
From the moment they stepped into the market, they knew things were going to be chaotic. Both of them got bumped around because of how many people there were. Everyone was all trying to go different places, everyone trying to stick together. They made their way around the market. Since they weren't on any time scale when it came to completing their task, they decided to have a browse through some of the stalls. "Ah crap.." mumbled Neeka. Phoebe looked down to see Neeka on the floor, as if she was looking for something. She also looked around and spotted a huge parade coming their way. "Uh, Neeka? What are you doing?" she asked. "Dammit! I've lost my ring. I need to find it." Neeka insisted, frantically searching the floor. Phoebe looked at Neeka and the back at the parade coming closer. "Neeka.. I think we gotta move..." she said slowly. "Not now phoebe! I need this ring!" yelled Neeka. Phoebe sighed. "What's so great about this ring? We gotta move?! Find it once this parades finished." "Parade?!" screamed Neeka. The noise was so loud now that they could barely hear each other. No sooner had Neeka said parade, she felt herself get knocked over. She tried to crawl under a stalls table but suddenly felt herself getting kicked. "Theif! Theif! Shoo! Shoo!" yelled the stalls owner at her. "No no no no.. You don't und-" Neeka tried explaining herself. "Shoo!" She scrambled out from underneath, hitting her head in the process. She got to her feet and was getting knocked around constantly by the parade. In Heitz Market, it seemed nobody stopped for anyone. Neeka looked around for Phoebe. "Phoebe?" she called. She looked around frantically, trying to push people out of the way. There was no use in trying, there was just too many dancers, and musicians making their way down the street. Neeka had two options. Her first, was to just go with the flow and see where she ends up. But if she did that, then there's a possibility that she would never find Phoebe. Her second, was to just lie on the floor and wait until the parade was over. That way she would still remain in the same place, but if she did this, she was bound to get hurt. Neeka looked around again frantically in a desperate attempt to search for Phoebe. Nothing. "Dammit, Phoebe." she mumbled under her breathe. She wasted no time at all, and slumped herself to the ground. She lay on the floor and curled herself in a ball, her hands protecting her head. The parade thought nothing of this, and continued on. Crushing Neeka. She cried out in pain. She never thought about how many people were in a parade, and how long they lasted. She lay on the floor, getting battered and bruised from the parade, hoping that Phoebe had done the same.
Neeka opened her eyes slowly, and glanced around her, taking in her surroundings. She looked down and saw the parade continuing off down the street. She looked upwards towards the sky, her vision slowly coming into focus. A woman with a wrinkled face was looking down at her, with a confused, skeptical look on her face, and once she had recognized Neeka could see, she scurried off shaking her head and muttering thief. Neeka lifted her head up and could see things more clearly now, the only thing that wasn't in sight was Phoebe. She brushed off all the rubble and stones off her, and heaved herself up, her hair was full of dust and everywhere was painful. "Ugh.." mumbled Neeka. She walked over to the previous stall she was at where she lost her ring and tried to steady herself by holding onto the table when the woman popped up, and pointed a finger at her. "No. No. Thief! Sh-" "Yeah, yeah, yeah. Shoo. I get it. Chill.." snapped Neeka. The woman shut up quickly and stared at Neeka with her mouth open. Neeka moved away from the stall and made her way to sit at a bench. She removed her shoes to take out a stone, when she heard a laugh, very similar to Phoebe's. It was coming from a small den made from sheets and cardboard just down the street. "Phoebe?" called Neeka. There was no answer, just a louder laugh. "Phoebe?" yelled Neeka again from the bench. She couldn't be bothered getting up because her whole body was throbbing. Neeka mumbled something under and put her shoe back on. She got up from the bench and did a big stretch, shrugging off the pain. As she walked down the street to the den, the wrinkly-faced woman made sure she was standing by her stand, just incase Neeka would 'steal' anything. She glared at Neeka as she walked past, and hissed, "Thief.." Neeka stopped in her place. She turned around and made her way to the woman's stall. The woman could see Neeka making her way towards her stall and a look of worry crossed over her face. Neeka slammed her fists on the table, and lowered her voice. "Listen, lady. You better watch your mouth. I don't need any false accusations. Understand?" The lady just stared at Neeka in shock. "Good." smiled Neeka. Neeka was tempted to pick up something off of the table, just to piss the woman off. But she didn't. Instead she backed off and continued on down the street to the den. She knew she had drawn some attention, especially at the woman's stall. But she didn't care. The sooner she found Phoebe, the quicker they could leave.
