How I feel about the country I was born in as well. Tres depressing. It has the potential to be great.
Predetermined notion of racial slurs? Really? That's the measure of freedom? I agree that America isn't free. But that's not why.
Also when I think complete freedom, I think lawlessness and very very very little government involvement in anything. So wouldn't think Switzerland Peacefulness tho and Happiness/Low stress wise tho I would think Switzerland.
I don't think there's true freedom in any country anymore. Freedom, in my opinion, is when you can do whatever the hell you want without consequences. Sure you can do it, but you'd be prosecuted in any court of law, If they aren't corrupt to be easily bribed. Then again, most governments are corrupted.
I agree with this but only to a certain extent. Laws and rules are existent for a reason. Personally, I'd want someone to be prosecuted if they commit murder or jacked all my things. People need boundaries; chaos ensues a lack of boundaries. But in regards of freely speaking and the use of censorship, I wish restrictions weren't so tight. People should have a right to know that the information they're given is the whole-hearted truth and not just what the media wants us to interpret from a situation. Americans are naive and ignorant in that we don't have all the information that we should have to make viable arguments about current events.
Yes there are some laws needed but others seem extreme. Americans will always be blind to the pain happening in other countries because they don't care. All they care about it making their stupid money for useless, materialistic items. They also ignore the things happening in bigger cities. America will always be flawed, just like any other country. Nothing is perfect.
I wouldn't argue Americans are blind because they're apathetic, but there are only so many resources available when all the important information is labeled as "classified."
I would say America is blind because A) majority of what the mass population is exposed is agenda fueled propaganda. Media wants you to see what they want you to see (nothing new), but also when they do get a glimpse of reality most people aren't open to it. I mean if you're used to hearing one truth 24/7 anything outside of that is scary. So you're right in saying not everyone is apathetic per se, but apathy is definitely there. Maybe not apathy to what's going on in other countries, but there's no great desire by the masses to look beyond what their given to begin with. I mean yes there's always going to be information that's off limits (super sketch) but I feel like many people are just willfully ignorant in that they're not making the most of the information that's still available to them.

Where did I ever say America was a free country? Its not. Everyone in America are mostly sheep, following one mindset: the illusion that they need money to be happy. You'll never be truly free. Anywhere.
