The group was lead out onto the brick roads if the town. And there awaiting the new recruits was large groups of rebel soldiers and a few empty horses. They were told to mount an empty horse and follow the appropriate company.
Satar looked to the soldier he rose next to, as they took off to fort Gorimir, "so how nice is the fort?" The soldier snickered, "it's big and made out of thick granite, that's all I care about, and the floors are dry. I've been garrisoned their for many days and ive seen plenty of battle. I'm sure you'll know what I mean when you get their." Another soldier chuckled. He was much less serious about it, "and did you know not far from fort Gorimir is a small brothel." Satar laughed," brothel?! Why should I care for that?" The soldier smiled, "I said that when I first joined too."
Almost a day of riding past before the army found itself in a large stretch of plain. The plains grass was thin but rich and many animals scurried as well as birds sang. A few bushes sprouted out here and there and in the distance was a large wall with towers sprouting from it in sections. A large iron studded gate lay at it's feet and a dirt road that stretched far and under the armies feet.
The soldiers at the front of the lime started shouting at the soldiers on top of the gate when they got close enough. But the group was so far back they barely if at all could make out what was being said, Damrel was looking everywhere but the fortress, he leaned a but off his horse and nudged Satar, "I don't see the brothel." Satar gave Damrel a weird look, "why in hell would they build one right next to the fort? It's probably in the closest town." Damrel nodded satisfied with the answer.
Soon the group was onthe move agian as the gates opened with a loud creak and the grinding of gears shot into the ears of the soldiers. As they made their way past the gates they saw a great fortress comprised of many individual grey stone buildings surrounded by the outstanding wall. At the center of the fortress was the largest building, the main barracks. Soldiers patrolled the dirt streets. Some relaxed at makeshift brewery probably made te soldiers themselves. One soldier was tied up to the top of a large wooden pole sticking out of the ground yelling curses. Soldiers in the group laughed as they passed. It was apparent he was being punished for something.
