I walk over to Kinzie and say "We won't let Earl's death be in vain. We will survive this battle for as along as we can. I promise." Kinzie looks at me and smiles. Lt. Sharp looks at me and says "Beccue I'm giving you a field promotion to Lt. Cause I doubt I'm gonna survive this battle." I look at Sharp "yes sir. Ok then Renegade whats the status on our wounded?" Renegade takes out her medical notebook and gives her report "Well of the 50 members of the platoon plus the four we picked up we have 37 KIA, 13 WIA, and Four uninjured. Of the wounded 5 are in critical condition, 2 can't use their legs, 3 have chest.wounds
I look at Renegade "that leaves 3 wound what about them." "They can fight. All they have is some bumps and bruises from the explosions." "Ok good who are they?" "Lets see ummm. Pvt. Nicks, Sgt. Ceña, and Pvt. Mcdonald." (Short update I know I'll add more in the morning)
(I know I said I'd update in the morning but I can't sleep so I'll do a quick update) I look at Renegade "tell them to come here." Renegade leaves and comes back with the 3 soldiers. Pvt. Nicks looks like a young scared little boy. He looks at me and says "sir do you think reinforcements will come soon?" I think and say "No. Not right away. I don't even think anyone but the enemy knows we are here. I will tell you that I will do everything in my power to survive and I expect the same from the rest of you."
Pvt. Nicks looks at me and starts to frown. Sgt Ceña looks and asks "Nicks how old are you even?" Nicks looks and says "18 sir. I just joined this platoon yesterday." Fox looks around "you know we should probably try fortify this place"
I look around and nod. " OK everyone here is what we are gonna do. Me and Fox will fortify the south wall, Nicks and Ceña the north, and Kinzie and Mcdonald the east. Renegade I want you to work on these wounded. See if you can save more lives. If you need more blood all of us that aren't wounded will each donate a pint of blood." Everyone responds with a "YES SIR" Me and Fox start fortify the south wall when she asked" So you got a family back in the States Lt?" "Yeah I do. About 8 younger brothers and sisters. What about you?" "Well sir I only got Kinzie. Me and her went to high school together." "Ok. No boyfriend back in the states?" "No I didn't have the time. To focused on school. What about you is there a Mrs. Beccue in the states?" "Ha I wish. But to answer your question no there isn't. Kinda why I joined the Army. To find a girl." "Well maybe you should look around more." "Well Fox if you must know I have been. In fact there is a girl standing near me who I'm starting to like." (Is Lt.Beccue hitting on Fox. Will Kinzie get revenge on Johnstons killers. All that and more to be revealed in 5 hours)
Fox looks at me and laughs. "You mean me don't you Lt?" I laugh "yes I do. If we survive this I'm asking you on a date." Fox smiles "Ok. Well i'll say yes to that date." We finish up fortify the South wall then go help Nicks and Ceña finish the north wall. Then me and Fox go down stairs and give blood. After 4 hours of peace and quiet we start taking shifts on being look out while the others sleep. We each take shifts of 1 hour.
During the last shift I'm up and keeping watch as a group of enemy soldiers start coming in to view. I see that the sniper from my platoon had put a silencer on his rifle before he died. I pick up the rifle and start taking careful aim. The gun has a 10 round clip more then enough to kill the enemy scouting party of 5 guys. I take aim at the guy that is bringing up the rear and squeeze the trigger. I hit him square in the chest. I do the same thing to the other 4 enemy soldiers.
