I didn't know what to do. So I did the rational thing...I wrapped my arms around him and kissed him back. He broke the kiss and set me down. He leaned close to my ear and whispered, "See look at them. They wish they were you." He straightened up and grabbed something out of his locker. "For you babe." He handed me a small black leather jacket, you know the hot kind. I shrugged off my jean jacket and he helped me put it on. I looked at him in wonder. Why was he treating me like his girlfriend? The day flew by. I was hardly picked on but nor was anyone friendly. By the end of the day I was exhausted and wanted to go home. I was walking out side when James rode up on his bike. "Hop on babe." He nodded backward. So naturally I hopped on. I was still amazed that he was treating me like this. He took us to the same spot as yesterday and got off. "Bet your wondering why I did that today. See part was to make them jealous the other was to keep the guys away from you. Come on time to meet the gang." James walked down a hill and into a little wooden house. I followed quickly and quietly. When I walked in I was caught by suprise. There sitting on the couch smoking a cigarette was Codey. My old crush from junior high. Man, was he looking fine. I stared I shock. Codey stood up and looked at me. "Jessy? Is that you? Damn you looking good." I was shocked, especially at James reaction. "Back off, she's mine." James growled. "Dude, she's just a friend. I wasn't gunna do anything." Codey held hands up in defense. James glared and turned away. Codey winking at me as he did.
So much had happened in the past couple days alone I was in shock. James went and grabbed a couple beers and offered me one. I declined I wasn't ready for that yet. I was still trying to adjust to the fact that of what I did. What I'd become involved with. James turned to the guy, did I mention I'm apparently the only girl? "Guys this is Jessy. She is out newest member and our only girl." I stared at the floor as the guys looked at me. Tired of standing I walked over and sat on the floor in a corner. James started talking to them bout the next big deal or whatever. I tuned him out. Before I knew it, it was time to go home. James gave me a ride and then sped off without a good bye. I walked inside and saw mom on the couch. "Who was that?" "James, guy from school." "Are you dating him?" "No yes maybe I don't know I'm going to bed." I ran upstairs before she could ask anything else. The minute my head hit the pillow I was asleep.
