Chapter three-Who's car is that?! Derek sighed, rinsing the soap out of his hair, rubbing his eyes lazily. He was tired for real, and didn't have any sleep, whatsoever. He couldn't stop thinking about what could possibly happen while Aunt Madilyn was here. Yesterday his mother said that the last time Aunt Madilyn ever came to their house was when Derek was around four months old. He sighed, turning the water off with multiple scenarios and disasters running through his head. He quickly got dressed, and dried his shaggy, jet black hair and combed it neatly, so some of it stayed in his eyes. He slipped on his black and white sneakers, and quickly ran outside to grab the mail when something phased him. Who's just parked in our driveway with a yellow and orange neon car? Derek stood there for a minute and looked in the window. The lady in the car couldn't be more than 28 years old, at least. No where over thirty. She had stunning golden hair that looked like it was naturally crimped, and didn't need anything other than brushing everyday. She had brilliant ice blue eyes that stunned him. She squealed in the car, quickly jumping out and squeezing the life out of him with the mail in his left hand. "Oh my gosh! Derek! You've gotten so big and handsome!" she said, doing the normal corny relative line. But he thought it was nice to hear, since she hasn't seen him since he was four months old, anyway. "Haha, nice to see you too...?" "Do you know who I am?!" she squealed, shaking his shoulders. He easily became dizzy and decided to answer her question before he threw up pancakes on her. "A-Aunt Madilyn!" he chuckled at her excitement. "Are your parents inside?" she asked, opening the trunk of her car. "Actually mom's at work and dad's inside eating," "Oh! Cool!" she squeaked. Aunt Madilyn reminded Derek of a mouse because her voice was so unusually high pitched! She stepped inside with two suitcases out of how many? Derek blinked, staring to take another two inside, when he found his dad and aunt chatting happily. Derek was not amused by his aunt. I swear she's a hippie! He dragged the suitcases down the hall to the guest room, where she would be staying for the next three months of this summer horror. His phone buzzed in his pocket, signaling he was being called. He ignored it when Madilyn walked by, poking his arm. "It's rude to ignore a call~" she chirped, hopping outside to grab the last of her endless bags. Derek exhaled, plopping on his couch. Now he knew what his dad meant by, 'Nut of the Kidd family'.
