  1. You need God, not hotlines

  2. Tbh I feel like deep down no one really wants to kill themselves. They just want to stop the pain that they're feeling and killing themself looks like the only way out. I know that's how I was. Even when I attempted I didn't actually want to die.

  3. There are more government programs available tho...at least in canada. We have this delivery therapy thing in my province where they'll drive to wherever you live and spend time with you til you calm down/are okay to be alone. There's also walk-in therapy stuff and universities offer free therapy to students (not exactly free but it's a part of the mandatory student health care payment). Hotlines are just the most immediate thing for venting ig.

But to ppl who want therapy or whatever look up what wherever you live has to offer. It doesn't have to be expensive and there's different forms of it (group therapies, the regular one on one discussion thing, art therapy and stuff etc)

  4. It's a cry for help when you don't actually know how or where to get help. And a feeling of immense hopelessness.

  5. There’s none of that in the USA.

  6. You didn't even look so shut up. Most ppl never bother to check so they never know what social programs are available

  7. What bothers me more is the social stigma around it where people don't take it seriously enough and think it's just something you gotta suck up or brush off.

  8. Exactly. And I feel like while hotlines aren't the choice for anyone, they work for a lot of people, too. Even temporarily. I don't like completely dismissing hotlines altogether but I understand people's critique when people want to raise awareness about suicide and suicide prevention and do it by listing suicide hotlines instead of more information about causes of suicide and the warning signs... etc. Not that providing suicide hotlines is bad, but I don't think it should be the sole focus of the discussion.

  9. Yeah kid you know my browser history. We have nothing that you listed in the first paragraph. It’s obvious you don’t know what you’re talking about now though so thanks.

  10. i disagree but ig we dif experiences

  11. I've just heard about so many people attempting and almost being successful and at the last minutes realizing they didn't want to die. Including myself. Maybe not everyone, but a significant chunk of it that they shouldn't be dismissed as not being serious. Especially because you don't know how many people that were successful regretted their actions when it was too late.

  12. My gf is american so i do know quite a bit about oklahoma and some california programs. There are tons of social programs in your country. And you answered right away that's how i know u didnt look up shìt. That stupid false victim mentality where you just act like you have no options is annoying so you can shut up with your complaining.

  13. I don't mean to say their mental state isn't serious. Depression is a serious issue. I'm just saying they didn't want to kill themselves in seriousness.

  14. So that means I haven’t looked before huh. You’re a joke.

  15. I meant the latter part. I just meant people may be serious about attempting and trying to die but deep down really don't want to die, more or less just see it as the only option to end their pain. I would never think that you were completely dismissing the seriousness of mental illnesses, dw.

  16. This is why she has you blocked I suppose.

  17. typical victim

  18. Who?

  19. Probs. Not this specifically but whatevs.

  20. No one else wants to kill themselves. It is always the situation that makes them feel that there is no other option, atleast from what I've seen. No one thinks killing themselves is fun and let's do it. So, yes, having a hotline to give you hope that not all is lost or that suicide is not the only option seems helpful to me.
Yes, it's infact useless to the ones who have just given up and don't want to be saved. However, they didn't want to kill themselves to begin with. It's just that they have reached a point where they don't see another option or just don't care enough to find one. Still, if even one life is saved, hotlines are useful, in my opinion.
