I was always interested in the weird stuff growing up. I loved the idea of ghosts when I was little. This fascination with the dark only grew as I got older, demons, witches, ghouls, everything. The soft music playing through my headphones fitting the mood and the empty mug by side was waiting to be put away. It was a night like any other. Now this didn’t bother me, as I said, the darkness was like a friend to me. As I was doing so I thought I saw movement next to me, but after flashing my light around I saw nothing. Around seven thirty this morning Skyla Rae was found by a neighbor checking to make sure she was okay after the recent power outage. The young woman was found near her front door torn limb from limb across the floor. Police have placed the time of death around three o’clock this morning. The neighbors were reported having not heard anything other than the thunder and heavy rain. The only other details we could get about the state of Miss Rae’s body was that the corners of her mouth were cut to resemble a wide smile…”
Dude I read that during a crazy thunderstorm and I live in the middle of the woods, it's only 4 in the morning. Thanks.
It woke me from a dead sleep and I was convinced my house was burning down. Idk how my boyfriend slept through that crap.
First thing I've written for fun in a while... ? I can't remember the last time I tried spoopy, haha, so here it goes. A loud crash jerked her awake. "Felix you jerk." She muttered and buried her head under her pillow. A substantial thump followed by the shattering of glass caused her to groan. "Go to sleep!" She yelled then paused to listen. After a few moments of silence, she sighed and decided to clean the mess up in the morning. Kel's cat had always been a nuisance, but in the past few days he had become intolerable. When Kel finally came back home, she was going to present her with a bill for having to take care of the little shīt for so long. She drifted off to sleep hoping Felix hadn't broken into her kitchen cupboards again. The sound of claws on wood slowly invaded her dreams, and she awoke irritated to see that it was still dark outside. The morning seemed so far away, and she was exhausted from the long work week. She turned over angrily to face her door and to her surprise, saw that it was cracked open. Blinking sleep out of her eyes, she noticed two green orbs glowing in the darkness. "FEL-" She stopped short... There weren't any shelves or furniture over there high enough for his eyes to be so high. She raised her hands to rub her eyes and suddenly felt huge claws digging into her shoulders. A blood curdling shriek of pain left her lips as she felt her muscles ripped to ribbons. Through the pain, she heard her roommates voice, "Go to sleep, Tara." A large, wet tongue that felt like sandpaper cut her screams off as strong paws slowly crushed her bones into the bed.
