  2. Sungjong~

    My heart sank, but I knew that leaving her was for the better. I couldn't let anyone else, other than me, get hurt. Clearly, it was fated for us to meet. But what could fate do, if one party was unwilling? Sungyeol and I were bound by a contract, anyway. We couldn't leave Myungsoo hyung even if we wanted to.

    <Flashback>

    "Jongie! Get out of there!" Sungyeol yelled at me as I dashed out of the shop at lightning speed, carrying a bag full of meat and vegetables.

    We spent our days being thieves and pickpockets, as we had simply no money. This week, it was my turn to steal.

    Unfortunately, no matter how fast we ran, we were eventually cornered at a dead end. The shopkeeper came closer and closer, wielding a knife. It wasn't the big butcher's knife, but it was still sharp enough to kill.

    All we could do was watch, as the sharp silver blade came slashing down on us, heading for me first. I closed my eyes and steeled myself for the impact that never came.

    When I opened my eyes, a tall, young man, who looked younger than twenty, was holding the shopkeeper's arm in a vice grip, preventing him from lowering the knife on us.

    We were then taken in by the young man, who imposed a contract on us. In return for saving our lives, we were to follow his every order without complaint. In other words, we were basically servants, our wages paid in accommodation and meals.

    Sungyeol was to be his personal assistant, and I was basically the maid. We lived under many rules, but the one I never broke up till now was the most important one.

    Do not fall in love.

  3. Anna~

    I sat in the grassy area, my tears stinging my burns. I cried for maybe about, twenty minutes before slapping myself.
    "Quit crying, you baby!" I screamed at myself. I often talked to myself due to a lack of socialness.
    "Oh Anna, you're pathetic." I said, slamming my face into the grass.
