Part 42: Mason's Point of View Jenna's eyes lit up and she threw her arms around me. "Does this mean we're together?" She asked shyly. I couldn't help but smile to myself, but at the same time I felt incredibly sad. "No." I said after a moment. Jenna's smile immediately fell and her arms dropped from my neck. She stepped away, looking hurt. "After all of that?! That whole speech? Are you kidding me?!" There you go again, Mason. Just hurting the girl you love like it isn't even a big deal. "Jenna," I stepped closer to her but she took a step back. I wet my lips and began talking again. "Look Jenna, I know you're the girl I want. There's no doubt in my mind. But -" "I know you're the one I want too, Mason!" She interrupted me. The look in her eyes told me that she was incredibly frustrated. It was all my fault. I shook my head. "No you don't, Jenna. Before me, you hadn't even kissed anyone yet." "Are you saying I'm not 'experienced' enough for you?!" She said like I was accusing her of something. "You're disgusting." Jenna spat at me. I held my hands up in defense. What the duck was she talking about? "No! I'm just saying that you should be with other guys. You know, other than me. Trust me, in the end, it will make out relationship stronger. Because by then, you'll know it's definitely me that you want to be with. I've been with a bunch of other girls Jenna." I saw her flinch, like that put her in pain. "I'm sorry." I whispered. "I know, that must hurt you. But it's the truth. My point is that I've been with other girls, so now I know that you're the best one. The one that's perfect for me." She raised an eyebrow at me. "What are you saying, Mason?" I sighed, I can't believe I'm going to say this. Surprise after surprise. She could be mine right now. But you are a ducking stupid idiot and have started caring for people. "I'm saying that I want you to be with someone other than me. So you know what it feels like to be with other guys. Then, if you still feel like I'm the one for you, I'll be waiting with open arms." She bit her lip for a moment. I really wish she would stop doing that. It turns me on in times that are supposed to be serious. "How long?" She asked quietly. "Six months." I replied. "Six months for you to date whoever you want, I just don't want you to miss out on anything. I'll still want to be with you at the end, what determines 'us' is if you still want to be with me."
