Part 34: Jenna's Point of View "Are we almost there?" I asked again. We had been driving for a while. "Jenna." Carter sighed. "Sami lives like two hours away. We'll be there in.." He glanced at the clock and then back to the road. "about 30 minutes." Carter turned up the music and started singing along. "He and my dad always sang together, and played guitar together. Like I said, they're twins. I can't think of anything they don't have in common. About 20 minutes later, his hand reached out and patted my knee, reassuringly. "I really think you should give Owen a chance, he likes you a lot." He said randomly. My eyes drifted to him. "Really?" Owen was a nice guy, he was great actually. I knew that he was incredibly sweet and he was smart and athletic as well. A girl's dream. "Yeah. He talks about you all the time. It's weird, for me anyways. Just go on one date with him. For me?" I would do anything for Carter, he's there for me more than anyone else. The world's best brother, by far. I slowly nodded, giving into defeat. "Fine, but only for you." "Yes!" A large smile spread across his face. "I was hoping you would say yes." "Why?" I asked curiously. "He's liked you for a while, Jen." He laughed slightly. "He'll be good to you. You know, if you guys go further than just one date. Which I'm pretty sure you will." I nodded. "Well, we'll see now, won't we?" Just then we pulled up to Sami's house. She immediately ran out and jumped into Carter's arms. He laughed and hugged her back tightly. "I missed you." He said softly. "You just saw me two days ago." She giggled. Carter sighed and kissed her cheek. "A minute without you feels like eternity." He stated simply. Yep. Definitely dad. Carter and Sami reminded me of my mom and dad. "Awwwh!" Her cheeks turned bright red. "I missed you too." He chuckled and kissed her lightly on the lips. "Good." I cleared my throat, awkwardly standing there. Sami's eyes shifted to me, she hopped out of Carter's arms and ran to me and hugged me. "I haven't seen you in forever!" It was true. I hadn't seen her for a while, Carter usually drives to go see her, she almost never comes to our house for some reason. He says that he doesn't want her to get into an accident just because she went to see him. "I know! It's been too long." I agreed. "Not that I object, but why did you come with Carter?" She asked curiously. It was a good question. "I have to ask you something .. and I think you might be able to help.."
