Part 20: Mason's Point of View Jenna's gaze tore away from mine, causing a smirk to spread across my face. "Yo guys, I'll be right back." I said to my friends. They all nodded and went back to their conversation. Aubree hugged my arm tighter. "Where are you going baby?" She asked, sticking out her bottom lip. I shook her arm off of me. "Aubree, let go." I rolled my eyes. She irritates me. I walked over to Jenna's locker. She was standing there with one of her friends. "Mason Parker," My ears perked up a little bit hearing her say my name. "is a self-centered, heartbreaking jerk. He hates that I'm his tutor almost as much as I do. Trust me." I felt my heart drop down to my stomach. Is that what people think of me? Jenna's body turned so she was facing me. Her eyes widened when she saw how close to her I was. "M-Mason! Hi!" A smile spread across her face. Are all people this fake? "I didn't see you there." She said softly. Obviously she didn't. "Yeah no kidding." I tried to smile, but what she had said hurt. "So." I let out a breath. "A self-centered, heartbreaking jerk? Well. It's nice to know what you think of me." "Mason, no I -" I held my hand up. My other hand traveled up and tucked a stray piece of hair back behind her ear. "Save your breath." I said softly. "At least you're thinking of me." A disappointed look spread across her face, like she wanted to say something but couldn't. "I'll be late getting to your place. Probably around 5. I have somewhere I have to go." Jenna nodded solemnly as I turned to leave. After I got a couple steps away, Aubree attached herself onto my arm. "You look upset baby. Is there something I could do to cheer you up?" I hate it when she uses pet names on me. I am not, in any way shape or form, dating her. I f*ck her when I'm frustrated and need to get laid. So she needs to stop pretending I'm her property. I quickly shook off my negative thoughts and looked down at her with a smirk on my face. "Actually there is." Her eyes immediately brightened. "I'm coming over right after school." A knowing smirk played on her lips, as if she knew what I wanted. I just wanted some way to take my frustration out and this is the only way I know how.
Part 21: Mason's Point of View I smiled and pulled her closer to me. I could feel Jenna's breath catch as it did every time she was close to me. My presence made her nervous as hell, and it amused me. "You know what?" She asked. A smirk playing on her lips. Her smirk was infectious, it spread to my lips. "Hmm .. what's that?" "You stole my heart." She whispered before she gave me a short kiss on the lips. "But that's okay." I felt my eyebrows raise. "Because I'm going to get you back by stealing your last name." She makes me happy. I smiled. "Then, that's one thing I can't wait for you to take from me." I heard a voice come from above me. "Yoooou Whoooo! Mason!" A giggle? I opened my eyes and saw Aubree straddling my waist. My whole entire body jumped and I landed on the floor. Aubree's body fell on top of me. "What the f*ck are you doing in my room?!" I shouted at her. She giggled while looking down at me, her hair making a tunnel around her face. "Your room? Mason, you're still at my house. You fell asleep." My eyes widened. "What time is it?" I asked, not even bothering to move her off of me. She probably wouldn't anyway. I was too tired and too lazy to move. Her eyes glanced at the clock. "9:40." "Sh*t, Jenna!" She glared at me. "Jenna? You mean Jenna Bennett? Since when do you care about her?" Why was she so disgusted? "I was supposed to go over to her house and - OH MY GOD. Aubree, what the f*ck?!" She giggled again and put her hands on my bare chest. "Aubree, get the f*ck off of me! Why the hell are you naked?!" She smirked. "I was hoping we could .. you know .. again?" I pushed her off of me. "No! God Aubree, you need - Well, I don't know what you need." I stood up and put my shirt on. I was already wearing my pants. "I have to go." "Noo, baby stay!" She whined. "I'm not your baby, Aubree! We're not even dating! Stop using pet names on me!" I said before I walked down the stairs to her house. Then it dawned on me, I'm supposed to be respectful this week. I groaned and looked back at Aubree. She was wearing one of my old shirts that I probably left at her house at some point. It was huge on her. "Thank you." I shut my eyes. This was painful for me to say. "For tonight, I mean." I shut the door and went on my way home. Sh*t, what the f*ck did I do? I dug my phone out of my pocket and dialed Jenna's number. "Hello?" She picked up on the second ring. I breathed a sigh of relief. "Jenna. Hi." Just hearing her voice, it made me feel a little bit better. "Mason?" "Yeah, it's me." I could sense irritation in her voice. Or was that hurt? "You never came.." She trailed off as if she were thinking of something. That's what you think. I rolled my eyes at my perverted self. If only she knew what I was doing while I stood her up. "Yeah, I'm sorry about that. I just uh. I just fell asleep." I wasn't technically lying. I just wasn't exactly telling the whole truth. "Oh. Well, it's all right." Awkward silence. "Did you get your homework done?" She asked. I shook my head, knowing she couldn't see me. "No. I'll do it now." "No you won't Mason, don't lie to me." I heard a small laugh come from her lips. "Okay, so maybe I won't." I admitted. "But it's not like I always do my homework." "Mason, I'm supposed to make sure you do your homework." She groaned. "You were with Aubree, weren't you?" She sounded hurt. "Uh - yeah. I was. I just .. I don't know .. I don't know what I'm doing Jenna. I really don't." Silence again. I need to do this. I have to take a jump, take a risk. "Jenna, can I see you?" I waited a couple moments. ".. tonight?"
