The fact that I exist does not prove supreme being exist, there is evolution and maybe a few other theories.
Well, the Quran was written by Muhammad I believe, and Muhammad was a human being. At the time, homo sapien sapien, wise human being, discounting the wise, all human beings do make mistakes. Therefore, Muhammad, being the writer of the Quran, and not Allah or God himself, (Same with the bible and other variants), it has the potential to be flawed.
Romans 1:20 ESV For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.
Lol.. So typical, it's amazing. You were talking about the bible til i came to the thread, but as soon as I mention the Quran, you all attack it. The media has put the idea in your head that anything to do with the Quran is bad. CJS, the Quran is a law, the perfect law for humans to live by. Don't say that it's so contradicting by looking at parts of it. When you're a kid, you wanna do all kinds of things but your parents know better so they say no. Even though as a kid you might not like them or cry, what they're doing is what's best for you because they have an idea of what's right and wrong. Allah has created everything, He is the All Knowing, the Ever Lasting. The Quran is a law for us, even though you think it's not right, you're just like the kid with this parent. But what's so typical is that in order to keep someone away from something, you just point out what seem to be the worst points. It's like if your mother tells you to go buy a kilo of apples, you'll come back with a kilo of apples. But, even though about 8/9 apples are fine, she'll see one thats a bit rotten and give you hell for it. She's not looking at all the ones that are fine.
î Anyways... I think this discussion is nice, but I still like to think half of my first comment true. Noah's Arc was real, has not been proven through it's own physical appearance but I remember a documentary explaining that the event did happen... But his " world" was the land limited to where he lived at the time. Who is to say the flood only the world he knew... A good few miles along the Earth. History channel or National Geographic .-. But it was on tvî makes me sound dumb for saying that but the documentary pit it very logically.
Well, human evolution obviously, we started off as single cell organisms and we grew into something more and became a sexual reproductive group known as animals
Again CJS, that's a typical statement. How can Muhammad, who was an illiterate, write the Quran? He did not write the Quran, nor did Jesus write the bible.
God was mad at everyone apparently and wanted only Noah and his family to survive. So I bet he flooded the whole world.
The thing about religion is that each one has their own variation of the Bible. Some are edited to fit their own beliefs while others add or remove specific things. In a Catholic church, I've heard the priest/preacher mentions the bible once or twice during their preach. I believe in God. Just because it makes more sense to me than whatever scientists come up with, and with the friends I've made t churches I can see how he exists.
I cannot possibly accept any text written by any human to be Universal law by any divine being... Especially one who has " told" people to do such contradicting things. I believe that people who question faith and look outside of it are more realistic. Hard to say about being biased in the matter.
You're correct on that one, Jesus did not write the Bible. The Holy Spirit flourished through men, giving them the power to speak of our Lord in ways no man will ever know. Why do you think Pastors, or Priests, or any man who speaks about God publicly, can go on for hours at a time?
It was about the bible, but te discussion had passed when you began on the Quran, and then we keep referencing biblical scripture or even changing the discussion in whole. When looking at a law of life, it would make sense to look at each and every part and not just accept it because because. You want to make sure it works together, is understood, does not contradict, and is correct. I'm not going to not look at only parts, because I have read it as a whole and have found parts that contradict, even close by sentences. It makes sense to pick out the worst points in something, while knowing the good points, because then you have an overall perspective and can weigh costs or benefits of a situation, even among beliefs. And, in modern day society (your apple example), one bad egg ruins the bunch. Same with children, same with society, if one thing is bad, the group is punished.
î Pastors ( speakers) have something called PRACTICE, and PASSION. I can talk for hours too if I were passionate about something.
