The more Chris struggles the more Emmer dies slowly inside. Two months ago was a very chilling event. Something none of our main characters want to converse about, and so I seem to reverse the clock narrating what truly happened May 26, 2010. It was a normal day for the friends, it was beautiful three days before school was out. The trees rustled whispering so only few may hear, a soft breeze would blow past, and tiny drops of rain hit the ground with small tiny 'smacking' sounds. As Thalia, Emmer, and Chris walked home that night after visiting the arcade. "Hey, Brain Busters XIV is out! Let's go check it out real quick at the Game Ally!" Chris wrote on his communications notepad as he lifted up his phone and pointed at the time showed 8:12 p.m. Emmer looked up at Thalia her hands gripping his wheelchair tighter than usual her lips were pursed as if trying to decipher wether they had enough time or not. "W-we sh-ould at least ch-check Thalia, may-maybe a n-new boxed dv-d anime set I-is out," Emmer said smiling at Thalia to persuade her. He knew her love for anime, cartoons, and collectables were unmatched. Yet she was still concerned about their safety, Emmer had always tried to help and protect Chris just like last week, and he looked paler than usual because of it, bruise marks were barely covered on his skin and sweat was clumped in his hair down to his face. He was also twitching, and stammering a lot more than usual. She sighed, "Fine, but only for 15 minutes it's a 20 minute walk home, we have to be home by nine got it?" Chris and Emmer looked at each other and nodded. They turned around and headed for the Game Alley one of their favorite stores, where all three of them practically lived in over summer. They had to cross the street at this time it was full of traffic and it was bustling also very noisy. Thalia and Emmer crossed on the walk signal when Chris wasn't paying attention to them he had crossed at the wrong time. When a sports car headed his way, it didn't look like it was going to hit the breaks he froze from fear and couldn't move. Thalia turned around as her mouth opened wide she started crying. Chris's eyes widened when he saw Emmer leap from his wheelchair running and stumbling on his feet across over to Chris pushing him out of the way a loud "BEEEEP!!" sound emerged from the car that was headed towards them and Emmer took the full impact from the hit. Before they knew it sirens were heard a few minutes later rushing Emmer to the hospital. Sadly it wasn't just the impact from the car that were benefactors of his condition. A week before the incident Chris had been called out to meet three members of the baseball team, Bruce, Flynn, and Caleb. They were in to give him a real beating, but they had accidentally slipped the note into Emmer's locker. Knowing it was meant for Chris, he went instead to try and talk things out. It didn't happen that way, they took their anger out on him for showing up instead of Chris. Thalia found Emmer that day half beaten to death, swollen and bruised he begged her not to tell Chris. Chris, Chris, Chris. Everything ad been for Chris was he really worth it? Does Thalia have the right to blame him for everything? Will Chris find out, and if he does what will he do? All of these questions revolve about one boy, I wonder how he'll take the impact when all things hit...
Emmer was such a brave person! He did everything for his friend! How rare to see people like Emmer these days~
Things hit hard days before our friends found out more about Emmer's condition. Thalia's hearing conditioned had suddenly worsened. She began suspecting it the day Emmer got hit. Update #5 Hey journal, I–I miss Emmer. I've never felt this empty. He's been my friend since I can remember. He's always thinking of others before himself no matter how much pain he was in or how bad the situation, he never thinks of himself first. There's even a time he helped me, I'll never forget it. In the summer of fifth grade before I learned anything of my hearing problems, which have gotten severely worse, before Emmer got hit by the car I couldn't hear anything by the time I regained my hearing a lady was screaming, "Call 911!!!" I guess I wasn't helpful then, if anything I'm useless. The summer of fifth grade, he saved my life. It was late and I wanted to go swimming, it's not one of those life or death situations where you drown I knew how to swim the problem was getting there. I walked two miles at midnight towards the location of the pool I only had sandals on and towel over my Barbie one piece. Sure it sounds stupid but that night it was almost over, 109 degrees. I had a fever and was wobbling and swaying I felt like I had to go. Eventually I got there, but before I could get in. I collapsed at the pool's gate, he was there. Emmer wasn't in his wheelchair so I was worried, I was even more worried when he picked me up, carrying me in his arms. The next thing I remember seeing was an iv in my arm, and a sleeping Emmer beside me. His legs looked like they've been through hell. They had scrapes and cuts his knees looked shaky his face cold with sweat. I couldn't help but stare at him when he looked up he smiled, and hugged me. "W-what were you th-thinking!?" He cried into my bed. It was then I guess, when I realized how much he cared. Signed by: Thalia Dated: July 16,2010 Now Thalia's hearings leaving her slowly. She still wears her hearing aid, but it seems to be helping her less as time goes by. The plot worsens, and many things have yet to be revealed.
Touching, very emotional. Please I can't wait for the next one to dig deeper into their backgrounds and history! Also what the present brings.
