I think it's good in some cases but there have been times when innocent people have been put to death and they only found out later. How horrible would it be of your on death row but know your not guilty. Plus the way of chemical execution has not been proven to be painless so it could be horrible. The people who deserve it most are usually ones who are sent to the insane asylum anyways so aren't killed. We are paying a lot in taxes to keep prisons running and feeding these criminals which have killed others...
? Uhm, I agree with everyone who's WITH the death penalty.. If you're not agreeing with the death penalty then I respect your opinion, but if someone kills your family member. Do you think that the pain that they killed life is worth 22 years in prison? (or number of years their put in jail) or the death penalty? Gives you a different point of view, doesn't it?
Lowest crime rate... meh mostly pickpockets, frauds, etc... Nothing that is deemed to be having Death Penalty though. But I agree with the fact sometimes the innocents get death sentenced too early on before it was fully revealed. But that is not the death penalties fault. It's the law, the courts fault. Think about it... You will only get the death sentence AFTER everything is done. And when you realize later on that he or she is actually innocent, it's the fault of the lawyers not doing their jobs well enough, the court not doing a full research.
@MrPro here is my take on that. People would still find a way to obtain firearms and still be able to hide them. However if everyone was allowed guns crime rate would go down because people would a little more cautious about committing crimes as you would run the risk of getting shot.
I don't think so, in Britain it's illegal to have a gun that's not licensed and we rarely have any deaths from them. In America however, even though it's larger, even in one state they will have far more fun related ACCIDENTS let alone on purpose due to guns.
@MrPro That's because our country probably has more "domestic" issues than a lot of places. There is racial tension, a horrible justice system, and many other things that make this country hated by a lot of other countries
I don't think it's hated. Britain's old and has had far more time to sort out it's laws plus it's smaller so easier to change laws if needs be. America is huge and new compared and each state has different opinions so it's probably very difficult to change laws, especially one as big as the gun law.
Not everyone that is charged is guilty, hence the slaughter of loads of inoccent individuals if the death penalty returns!
I am NOT reading all 16 pages so if I repeat I'm sorry. Here we don't have a death penalty. I'd only be okay with it if people who are serial killers get the death penalty. Anything like accidental murders shouldn't get it. If it is done purposely and it is admitted to or there is proof showing it, then it should be put in place. With people like rapists though, they need their cock cut off or their vagina sewn up so they can suffer. Just saying.
The death penalty solve nothing.it does not bring comfort to a family that lost a love one, all is does is continue a death cycle...Think about it..killing someone because they killed someone ? shouldn't someone kill you then cz you just committed the EXACT CRIME!!!! Let GOD be the judge of who dies n lives n let him give the punishment for those who take it upon themselves to take a life ...The end !
Yes I think it should be. I think watching people suffer is better than them just dying. Death is the easy way out xD let the criminal suffer and get beat everyday for the rest of their life!
I dont really think god has a place in this discussion considering a lot of people dont believe in it. These are laws made by man.
