  6. Few people knew me. Though those I knew are now prominent people in the community. I pick good friends.


    However, if you have to ask if you should apply then the answer us no. You're looking for approval before you earn it and you're being too self conscious to be able to make the 'be damned' decisions that will be defining your tenure.
